Mohegan Sun

So I'm going to be going to Mohegan Sun this weekend and am going with people who are U21. First and foremost are there any good bars in the surrounding areas most of my friends have fakes but obviously aren't going to use them at the casino, but i'd feel bad excluding my girlfriends from coming out with us. Is there anything they can do during the day? We're already going to check out Mystic but we're also going because our families are going to a convention for the week. We're going to check out the spa and such as well, but just curious what other stuff there is to do!

Best of my memory, when I lived up there---most of Mystic was closed in the winter months of Nov through March. Might have some open things but in the past wasn't much.

You seem to mean the seaport. The Submarine Force Museum is open Wednesday to Monday. The Mystic Aquarium says it's open daily. And the ever lively Coast Guard Academy, along with the refurbished Eagle (if DHS ever gets its act together), are quite attractive to visit, even for many youths.

Yeah we're going to head to the aquarium one day and the spa another, but that still leaves us with two completely open days and still looking for some nightlife with less strict security. Also, we (they) may be able to gamble considering we are all native american and some tribes allow people U21 to gamble with tribal cards, but i haven't looked too far into that.

Uh, no. You can't gamble at Mohegan Sun if you're under 21, regardless of whatever fake tribal cards you have.

There is no drinking or gambling in Connecticut if you are under 21. The State of Connecticut is very strict. The State Police are very strict. The Mohegan Sun Tribal Police, who recently received full police powers from the state, are very strict. There have been several alcohol related tragedies in the area and clubs are closely monitored. Please don't do anything to ruin the trip for you or the rest of your party. A fake ID is not a good idea and Native American status won't help you. I don't know where you're from but I trust you don't want to return here for a couple of appearances in Norwich Superior Court.

Those 18 years of age who would like to gamble can legally do so in Rhode Island but still no drinking. Twin River Casino has all the table games as well as slots. It's exactly one hour from Mohegan Sun. Have a wonderful, safe and smart trip!
