Any interest in a write up?

Enjoying the atmosphere here, casinos are nice- small, but larger and nicer than those in curaçao.

All blackjack is s17, no rsa, no surrender, 6 deck. Almost all casinos are $5 mins (ritz is $10)

Continuous shufflers are rare, hand shuffle is most common, a few batch shufflers.

About half the Casinos take a hole card, about half don't.

At one casino, this was the game: $5 s17, hand shuffled 6 deck, dealt down to half a deck (!), and they expose the burn card.

Free drinks and sandwiches at the tables are the norm.

One interesting rule: most places don't have quarters, .50 chips or 2.50, so if you get a blackjack on a $5 increment bet, you get paid 1:1, and then an additional $5 is imprisoned. If you win your next bet, you get the $5. If you lose it, you lose the $5. You may instead opt to receive an additional $2 instead of the $2.50. Any idea what impact this has on HE?

Quite an enjoyable destination.

The BJ imprisonment rule forces you to wager the equivalent of $7.50 on the next wager, which has the effect of very slightly increasing the HE on the original bet. I played with this rule in the Dominican Republic.

Don't take the $2, that's worse than betting an additional $2.50 at 0.4%.

I would love a writeup, I have been to the Sheraton in Old San Juan but that is all. A review of the places you visit and the blackjack conditions would be awesome.

I played at the Intercontinental. S17, 6 decks, double after split, no surrender, aces get one card each. $5-$100 on one table, and a $25 minimum table (Not sure of max). The $5 table was usually packed. The $25 table was never packed, and only in use maybe half of the nights I was there. I imagine that at less popular times it was probably never used. Dealers were ok, some were very fast, and generally pretty good at switching from English to Spanish based on the player. One guy, however, had this weird problem (I don't think it was intentional) that he would sometimes be off by 1 when counting out a hand in English. He'd have 19, but call it 18. However, he'd pay the bets properly. For example, one time I had 18 and he pulled a 19 on like 5 cards, but called it "18". He goes to collect my bet and I stop him since I thought it was a push. I normally tally the dealer's hand too, but it was so quick that all I heard was "18" and saw him taking my bet in. Anyway, he stopped, gave me a second to tally his cards, and I saw he was right (right that the dealer won, not that he said his tally correctly). It kept happening for most of the teens--e.g., 13-19. Most of the other players were pretty bad--I don't think anyone else was close to basic strategy.
