Many of our members have traveled throughout the world for pleasure or to seek out good gambling opportunities or both. Whay have you eaten recently that is beyond the "so-called norm"?

Sign me up on the list of people who think that serving/eating food which is still alive should be banned.

Suppose that there are aliens among us who like to eat humans. Would you rather be fried, sliced and diced while still alive, or killed first and then prepared?

I assume you are only talking about animals, not plants. And will exempt things like yogurt with 'live' cultures. And will exempt things like mollusks, which are technically alive if you eat them raw.
I general I agree with you. I'm not going to be eating a live cow.

I'm using the fish which was flopping around with half of its body carved out, and the fish that was still breathing despite the lower half of its body being deep-fat fried, as examples. I don't see this as the same thing as eating yogurt cultures or live plants, but I would be unable to explain why if asked.

this reminds me of the Three Stooges episode: Restless Knights at 2:25..
where curly tells larry he would rather be burned at the stake than be decapitated..
Larry: Why?
Curly: a hot steak is better than a cold chop!

I've eaten live octopus. It's very popular in Korea. They chop it up and it wiggles on the plate before you eat it. It really is not as bad as you think; kinda fun. Good with booze.

That other stuff: No way. The fermented shark mass made Gordon Ramsey throw up on his show. There is an absolutely terrifying account of someone eating those unlaid duck eggs on the Internet somewhere. Even Andrew Zimmern won't touch that one; simply revolting in every sense of the word.
