The folks bringing high speed rail from LA to sin city by 2027 have their train up and running now in Florida.

I expect it will fail within 18 months of going live, if it ever goes live.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

more power to them if the Orlando to Miami route is profitable.

I expect the Vegas - LA route to have a better chance because gambling

Highways, freeways, basically any roads aren’t profitable either but that’s never stopped us from building more auto dependent infrastructure we can’t adequately maintain with the funding in place before. It’s only ever considered when it comes to mass transportation.

Yes this is a private venture, but my statement is factual nonetheless.
