Where is the driver going? Perhaps to aid the other pedestrian(s), out of camera view, who was not quite so quick on his/her feet.

I think the driver is waiting for police to arrive.

The PASSENGER, on the other hand, is getting the hell out of there!

It could have been the driver jumping out, depending on the country this took place in. My guess is it was a stolen car and the driver/passenger is fleeing the scene. That pedestrian seemed very unphased.

Take another look.

In the last couple frames, a pickup enters the scene. You can see the driver leaning out of the window. You can see the steering wheel.

The driver is on the the left side of the pickup.

Therefore, it was a passenger jumping out of the car.

there's no sound, but if there was you'd hear a bang I think, that car was just in an accident most likely. The fender or something is coming off; possibly the car wound up on the sidewalk from trying to avoid the accident. And that guy possibly is limping a bit, that hanging piece of the car might have nicked him. The passenger is running back to see if anyone needs help, maybe.

Kind of funny how different people pick up different things.

Staged event.
Someone hoped it would "go viral" or something and he would profit by it.
No startle reaction in the pedestrian that would substantiate a prior accident and out of control vehicle.
Passenger appears to be running back in land of traffic and not running toward the pedestrian which might comport with a recent traffic event that the subject car had evaded, but I wonder if that is debris on the car's right or a safety device to diminish injury to the would be pedestrian.

Ahh! The things that go through one's mind while half asleep. Last night, I was in that semi-dream world when another explanation of this video came to mind. I had to get back to this thread this morning to view it again. Here is my revised take on the incident:

Yes, there has been a collision prior to what we see, as suggested by the damaged right fender. But where is the driver going at the end? I think the question should be, "Where is the driver?" I think the vehicle has no driver at all as we see it and is going down the sidewalk completely out of control. The passenger is eventually able to get the car stopped and races back to check on the driver who fell out or was ejected before the vehicle enters our view, perhaps even before the earlier collision. Take another look and see whether that makes any sense to you?
