A Macy's with a $100 gift card at one corner and a hair salon on the other. :)

I don't particularly mind Nathan as she's harmless. She's not going out and calling people names, stirring the pot, nor being involved in skulduggery in general. The community here should stop niggling Nathan.

One of the reasons I think Nathan is a
female is she puts an emoticon of
some type at the end of 90+% of
her posts. Men rarely do that, but
there are tons of women who do
it constantly.

I'm on a keto forum that's 80%
women and it's an emoticon orgy
there. Women hate being misunderstood,
so they feel they have to clarify what
they say with an emoticon to
back them up. Men don't care that
much if we're misunderstood, so we
don't bother.

Think about it. Nathan takes the time
to think about and type an emoticon.
Do you know any men that consistently
do that 90% of the time? I don't.

I went to Bingo with my wife at Sunset Station. Some lady had about a dozen of those things. She had one parked on top of a coverall card that needed one number. Somebody else hit it after she missed about 5x. She took the doll afterward and smacked it down on the table and cut the head off with a knife.

To explore the growing role emojis play in our lives, artsy emoji distribution and monetization platform MojiLaLa ran a "State of Emoji National Survey" that asked 1,000 Americans about their emoji preferences.

Women prefer a fingers snapping emoji, men just want a beer can

When women were asked which emojis they wish existed, the most popular answer was fingers snapping (14%), followed by a box of donuts (12%). Meanwhile, the most in-demand emoji among men is a beer can (15%), followed by a fart (11%).

Americans don't like it when Government official use emojis

When asked who shouldn't use emojis, 29% of Americans responded "government officials." Other people who shouldn't use emojis include "my boss" (14% of Americans expressed this opinion), followed by "senior citizens" (10%), "my parents" (10%), and "anyone over 30" (5%).

Women are 16% more likely to use them compared to men

Emojis are significantly more popular among women than men. 91% of women say they use emojis, compared to 75% of men.

Millennials rule the roost with emojis

86% of Americans say they use emojis on a regular basis. That figure jumps to 92% among millennials (ages 18-34) and falls to 77% among non-millennials (ages 35 and up). Emojis are least popular among baby boomers (ages 54 and up) (62%)-although, notably, that is still a majority.

Just as a contrast, I was on a literature/book site in the early days of the net where women were probably 90% of the posters and not only were emoticons not used, they were a banning offense.

Why is it I see all these people rubbing screens of the slots before every spin. Its like they know something i dont. I asked one person and they said it brings them luck and actually works but i think there should be a poll on here to ask what you guys think

Maybe it only works for women so it might work for me when im not posting as a man on here

Nathan Handy here. See yall later

The people I see rubbing the screen do it in disgust after a near win, I.e, the third bonus symbol just whizzes by a split second, so they rub it as if to say,"Darn, what a shame. I was a split second from getting the bonus. What a tease."

You didn't mention my "second" game, craps.

I know, it probably seems complicated and a bit intimidating to newbies, but it might be a good fit for you.

Check out the wiz's tutorials on how to play it, then look at other online or written sources of info; I learned "back in the day" by reading a few books on craps from Barnes and Noble.

Given you have a limited income that means you will have a small bankroll, which is not a fatal thing so long as you maintain discipline.

You should probably start out by simply betting pass line, and nothing else; an "odds bet" on the pass line bet should be made if your bankroll permits it, but if not don't worry about it, just flat bet the pass line.

I suggested it might be a good fit for you because it is often a fairly social game, bordering occasionally on a "party" atmosphere when the dice roll favorably.

Good luck.

Now that you mention it, I think I may have seen one at Tampa Hard Rock. I'm not sure if they are available at Nathan's casino (assuming it is not Tampa HR).

I wonder which would be more intimidating for a new player: bubble craps or 'live' craps? If it is a crowded table, live craps would be definitely be more intimidating. But if you could find an empty(-ish) table with helpful dealers, I think it would be better. I think bubble craps, with the plethora of available bet options without explanation (I guess if you drill down through the help pages, you would find bet explanations) and the ticking clock for making/changing bets, may be more intimidating for the first-timer.

I'm not sure what Nathans budget is, but unless Nathan plans on playing in +EV situations I wouldn't think it's a good idea to learn other games.

I have mentioned to her a few times that she should learn about vultureable slot games and there was nothing but crickets. I expected that she would have at least asked what that is or something. Even if she can't play them it would be good to understand the concept and how one would play them.

I bought a charger cord from Family Dollar for $5 and thought that was a good deal considering that I also bought an expensive charger cord for almost $13 last month and lost it like 3 days later. I stopped by Dollar Tree afterwards because I had a little free time. Imagine my shock when I found a charger for $1! Drats! I bought it to to supplement my $5 charger. I found a dollar in the parking lot so it's like I got the $1 charger cord for free. The drawback is that the $1 charger cord is nowhere as near as long as the 3 foot long Family Dollar one. It's retractable, so I would say it's about a foot at most.

This is amazing! I woke up this morning after getting very little sleep because I was working very hard last night and I was for some unknown reason just hoping to read something about the vagueries of buying charger cords and the endless possibilities of finding them, losing them, costs, lengths, etc., combined with sometimes fortuitous events like finding a dollar when that was the EXACT amount I paid for one of the charger cords! And then I open the Nathan thread and I say, Holy Cow, there is something like that posted in this very thread! And before I read it I was not in a super happy mood and was considering posting something derogatory about a post Nathan made but considered that if I did the new moderator who lost the election but was still picked by Green Wizard to be the new moderator, OnceDear, would ban me for maybe 3 days, but if I was really rude, maybe even a week!, so I didn't make that post! It is great that I didn't push that nasty "Post" blue button on the bottom left of my screen! But getting back to the main point of this post, which seems to be getting longer, there is no way you can get a charger cord for just a $1! But I MEAN you COULD get it for a $1, as I am NOT, I repeat NOT, calling Nathan a liar, but rather my posting style really means that it is AMAZING she found it for a dollar, not that she "didn't"f ind it for a dollar, if you all know what I'm getting at!!!!! The funniest part of this is that while I was barely awake while thinking about this, I felt I needed a "charge" that only a double espresso could give me! So I had a "charge" while writing about "Chargers"!!!! And then, and I know you guys might think I'm making this up, but my younger son texted me to discuss a CHARGE in the NBA game...... WTF!!!!!!

Soopoo, I am getting really annoyed by you. I am literally three seconds away from telling you off and the ONLY reason I have not cussed you out is because of the keep it PG rule and I'm not trying to get suspended for a month.

Hey Soopoo,
That's amazing. You should add it to your signature whenever you post in this tread.
However, I'm going to have to ban you for 3 days milliseconds for calling Nathan a 'Holy Cow', for calling the wizard 'green', for calling the 'Post' button 'nasty' and for the implied obscenity at the end of your post, which I've had to star out in the quote.

You have now hurt my feelings.... (upside down smile face emoji here if i knew how to post emojis....) I think if you cussed me out you would only get suspended for 3 days. I'm going to ask everybody here if they think it is ok for me to start a new thread to discuss how many days you would be suspended if you did cuss me out, because if I just start the thread it is POSSIBLE that someone could misinterpret me starting that thread as being trolling, and I want to make it crystal clear that trolling is NOT what I want to be associated with! So I sent out a dozen or so pm's and are waiting for replies before i do so. I see I actually sent out 14 pm's so what do you think I should do if the unlikely event occurs and exactly 7 say I should make the new thread and 7 say I shouldn't? maybe Mike Pence would help me!?!? But I'm hoping MustangSally gives us the likelihood of EXACTLY 7 voting yes, and exactly 7 voting no! I picked MustangSally because she is the best on the forum at distributions and such, and MathExtremist hasn't been posting as much recently, and with threads like this I really can't understand why! And yowza! Just while typing this non pithy reply I received the first pm response but I think it may be from a sock puppet of Buzzard so I don't know if I should actually count that as a bonafide vote, so maybe in addition to letting me know the groups feelings on whether I should start the new thread you guys (and gals!) can also weigh in on whether a potential sock puppet vote should count! And Nathan.... you think I didn't notice that you said "three seconds" when Oncedear suspended me for "three milliseconds"? Just a coincidence? I think not! I'm going to ask a moderator, and it may be Face or it may be BBB, to at least warn you that the "three' is clearly meant to hurt my feelings even more, to throw it in my face (LOL not Face!), that I was just suspended. You KNOW I've been a member of this forum for years, now approaching a decade, and a new NON ELECTED moderator has banned me because of YOU!

Anyway, if you ever make it up to Buffalo/ Niagara Falls, chicken wings are on me!

Drat, I'm rubbish at this moderating malarky. I forgot to actually apply the suspension, and failed to add it to the suspension list.
It would seem unreasonable to apply it at this late time.
So, Soopoo, if you were previously able to say, "I've never been suspended on this forum", then your record is still unblemished. Forgive me!

Does anyone know how to do a "tongue in cheek" emoji. I think a few of us could do with one.

OK, Nathan, This is a serious and friendly post.

Some, including myself have been openly, implicitly or subtly critical of your posts. There's been some constructive criticism and some sarcasm. It happens. Your posting style seems to attract such behaviour.

I hope it can come to an end. I'll do my part by trying harder not to 'pick on your posts'

If you'd like to complain to me, or about me, or Soopoo, or BBB or Wizard, or God then please do so and I'll listen intently and with good humour.

Maybe, just maybe you could help bring the various silliness, criticism, sarcasm etc by an end by not inviting it. I know we shouldn't have to tread on eggshells, but we can all at least give some extra, extra thought before clicking 'post'.

Especially take on board the frank suggestions that you have received from BBB, who has tried to help you. She's not out to get you, honest. Neither am I, nor is anyone, as far as I can see.

Where members like Axel, have tried to help you by engaging in conversation about games etc, maybe embrace that help, too. Don't raise questions and then ignore helpful replies.

Courtesy: Gets courtesy.
Silliness: Gets more silliness.

If you want to contact me...

Best regards,
OD.

I had a weird dream last night.

I was leaving a tavern (I don't drink) and discovered that my car had been stolen.

The weird thing is that the thieves had removed and left behind the driver's door, hinges and all.

Is it just me or do other people either (1) forget to bring a phone charger when traveling and/or (2) leave the charger in your hotel room?

Who was it that said, "A fool and his phone charger are soon parted."?

It's just you!

As I've got older, I've adopted a new, personal policy for when I misplace things, such as pens, phone chargers, 10mm wrenches etc. I used to waste time trying to find them, but then I discovered that the best way to find that misplaced item was to go out and buy a new one. Invariably after buying a replacement, usually at some expense, the lost item would immediately show up and then I'd have an unwanted one. So it is with chargers, USB leads, and even phones. I have so many spares in every bag, draw, toolbox, that I can never be without a working charger, a working USB cable and a working phone.
Sadly, the charger that I can find is usually to a Nokia phone, the lead that I can find is a micro USB lead and my phone that I can find takes USB C. I haven't resolved that issue yet.
I really did nuke my HTC smartphone with a rubbish USB lead where the plastic insulator had fallen out letting the USB lead go in back to front!

I typically remember to bring it when traveling, but I lose at least a dozen a year leaving them in hotels. It is typically cheaper to buy a new chager than have the hotel ship it back to you.

(Especially if you follow Nathan's tip and buy it at Dollar Tree. Definitely do not buy it at Family Dollar though...that'll cost you an extra $4. :D :p :P :( :) ;)

Sorry, couldn't help myself with the emojis, particularly in this thread.

(Especially if you follow Nathan's tip and buy it at Dollar Tree.

In the UK, we have PoundLand where everything used to be £1. They eventually struggled with that price point and started selling items up to £5.

After struggling financially, they had to close down some stores and were bought out for £610M... Not £1 which would have been normal for a near bankrupt enterprise
Poundland
There are some great deals to be had such as USB c lead, HDMI cable, 5M Ethernet cables etc and I even picked up some talking clocks, all for £1. I sold loads of those clocks on ebay for £9.99 ( after repairing the common fault in them )

I went up to Quarter machine to get my feet wet in trying something new other than penny slots. I'll try other games other than slots soon. ;)

To be fair, this is Nathan’s Corner.... So yeah, it is what it is. Nathan’s posts might be not the most interesting, but they’re also not really hurting anyone or attacking people. So I’m chill with it (not that my opinion necessarily matters).
