A local Comedian said years ago as a joke,"Tommy smoked crack and had a heart attack and is now in the ICU. Billy smoked weed and then ate a sandwich." That joke stuck really hard with me.
Guy "won" less than his bet and the slot machine had the audacity to tell him he got a big win! SMH! Also, the Nintendo cartridge is so much more important than the Nintendo console. Without the cartridge, the Nintendo console is just a useless box.

fun, fun, fun in the sun. 4th of July: baseball, hot dogs and mary jane

Baseball hot dogs and mary jane are fine for those inclined to such things, but add in gambling???

I am shocked that a gambling financed state went for this. Next thing you will tell me is Utah went for coffee, tobacco and booze.

The closest I come to a little plastic baggie is when I buy some chia seeds or turmeric. I don't smoke real cigarettes much less those funny ones.

I wonder how many people here smoke weed and how often? I don't think I know or hang out with anyone that does(at least anyone close to me). I doubt I will ever smoke it. I might try a puff or two but that's about it.

I think you have a large mix of people here of many backgrounds and ages so I would guess if everyone is honest, it's close to 50/50, even occasionally. But I also believe almost everyone is in favor of it at a minimum for medical use. I don't think legal sales will increase the amount of people using it though. Maybe a few that don't normally smoke might try it at a party where it's offered. I envision this at a party where the hosts had to hide their smoking in the past since it was illegal but now might feel open to offer it now.

The illegal sales will continue for multiple reasons including credit, price and quantity.

Casinos are going to have to deal with tourists in rooms smoking but prostitution is also illegal in LV and it's still everywhere.

Most of my employees smoke it and for some it's about the only thing they spend their extra money on. I'm no expert but I do believe it is addictive in the fact that many smokers enjoy it enough to use it everyday. Could they quit easier than an alcoholic? No clue but I know they don't stop.

As for me, I'm with you. I didn't smoke in school growing up when many did and never picked it up later. But I sure as hell drink my share. Is one worse than the other? Many will say alcohol is worse but it's all up to how the person handles themselves by using responsibility.

Taxing and legalization is a step in the right direction, hopefully more states get on board with it.

States such as Washington and Texas often bring child endangerment charges against those who have pot in their homes or who ingest/inhale it while they are lactating.

Its absurd. I don't know very many safer drugs and breast milk already has THC in it. Indeed, we all, even as adults, convert some of those milk proteins into opiods.

Benny Binion knew alot of his dealers did coke and pot; he didn't care. When a craps player accidentally dropped a bindle of cocaine into the field, Benny called out 'Your faded, at this time of night anyone of my dealers can cover that bet'. And he famously told security guards to stay out of the dealer's break room when one of them guards brought two dealers to him who had been smoking pot. Benny just sent the dealers back to work. No big deal. Pot, booze, topless shooters, whatever... he just didn't want anyone using their own dice.

I can't wait until a tourist goes to vegas and smokes pot. Then goes back to their job and gets drug tested and fired.

They've been knocking on doors at 4am at the Flamingo trying to find out the rooms where smells are coming from.

That's because the folks who were smoking weed in their rooms weren't "cool" about it, they didn't take the steps necessary to avoid detection.

It's pretty easy, really.

Only smoke in the bathroom, with the exhaust fan on and the door closed; leave the fan on after you're done.

I sometimes put a towel at the bottom of both the bathroom door and entrance door, thinking it helps prevent smoke from wafting out underneath the door.

Ounce of prevention and all that (pun intended).

Many years ago a pot user published a most enjoyable book titled, A Child's Garden of Grass. I collect children's picture books and saw it in the children's book area of a large department store. Even though it wasn't a large-format picture book, it sure caught my attention. (After the department store wondered why it couldn't keep that book in stock, it checked and quickly decided not to offer THAT book.)

IIRC, the author lived in NYC (or some other large city) where it was important that other nearby apartments not detect evidence of one's pot use. The book's advice almost exactly dove-tails that of MrV, but with one addition: Once one finishes smoking, turn on the shower as hot as it will go, close the bathroom door, fill the room with steam from the hot water, and then open the door to the air-conditioned living areas, causing the steam (and the pot vapor) to condense.

Please use the potty responsibly, OK?

Why? Will it give you a thrill for someone to lose their job?

Hmmm... I know some WoV members who fussed because they cannot carry their pistol into the casino when they go to gamble, even with a concealed weapon permit. Forcing entry at 4am into the rooms of folks like that may result in someone getting shot by some retired law enforcement officer, don'cher know?

What idiot in hotel management came up with the idea of waking EVERYONE on a floor at 4am because SOMEONE may have smoked pot? Definitely not a candidate for this year's customer service award.
