Now that you mentioned it, all of the above! LOL. Raw Vegan chics are a pain though. Very nitpicky about everything and anything. Plus big Lululemon fans to boot. Yet the sweaty monkey dance lasts all weekend though.

I never run into a Lebanese/Indian/Greek casino. Now you have to show me one. I am very intrigued.

Brunch on Sundays and breakfast at least one other time each week are part of that but if it were up to me, I would eat breakfast out every day. I love me some pancakes, French toast, bacon, eggs. I suspect there are souls here that do not cook.
Souls that don't know where to start if they wanted to cook.
'In the kitchen' is cute.
Calling for Chinese delivery is acceptable.

Someone mentioned 'Shrimp and Grits'.
As it so happens, I make really good shrimp and grits.
Now I think it was ShrimpboatCapt that mentioned.
For the record, I have absolutely no idea how to catch shrimp(s) in the ocean.
But I would be willing to put my shrimp and grits up against anyone's.
There is still the rest of the meal to consider as well, but for now we are talking simply/complicated shrimp and grits.
You say?

I cook.

I make barbeque. Not just barbeque, but that's what I love to cook the most, because so many people seem to be flummoxed by it.

And that's what I like to eat. Meat. Stews. Chili. All the good stuff.

I am guessing you have tried most of the breakfast spots in Vegas by this time. Would you care to list some of your favorites? I am always looking for a delicious breakfast.

I am a pancake snob in that I only want pancakes with real maple syrup. This is pretty rare and hard to predict. Some really pricey places don't have it and a few moderate places do. The Cracker Barrel chain used to have real syrup but switched to a blend about 5 years ago. I have a beef with the Pantry restaurant at Mirage because their menu says "pure maple syrup" but it is definitely standard "pancake syrup." Prices at Pantry are high enough they could give me some real syrup. I like some of their other menu items. At standard diners I will get eggs or maybe fruit pancakes instead so I can avoid the maple syrup issue.

When I first heard about Hash House a Go Go (maybe 10 years ago) the Sahara location was the only one in Vegas. I went there and thought it was great, but the portion sizes are ridiculously large. Then a few years ago I went to the one at the IP and it was OK but not as good. Now there are several casino locations and I am assuming the quality has fallen further.

One place I often hear for breakfast is the Peppermill. I found the retro vibe pretty cool, but the food is standard diner at higher than standard prices. Still good though. It's hard to screw up bacon, eggs, and hash browns.

Peppermill has been recommended by a number of players that I communicate with privately, but I've never eaten there. The issue: paying for food. It has to be free to me....that is one of the perks of this career.

That maple syrup thing is surely going to limit your options. I don't have that going on, but I am picky about pancakes. You can't get decent pancakes at any of the buffets that I frequent. :( My pancake place is Tuscany casino. Very tasty pancakes.

Similarly not great French toast at most buffets, but a few are ok. Westgate (formerly Hilton) has decent French toast at the buffet. They also have that $2 price for locals with ID for breakfast (reg price 16.99) so I like that. :)

When doing breakfast buffets, one of my main concerns is bacon. I like crispy bacon, few have that opting instead for that mass produced saggy bacon. Westgate and Sam's town have crispy bacon.

Mrs likes the Caprese salad that way, so that's how I make it. It's a toss up, balsamic on the cheese or under it.

Hehe, I wondered if anyone would recognize that brisket. Another one arrived today. Annella and me are on a first name basis. I'm done for a while, though. Veblen goods aren't a good allocation of resources. I had a couple good months at work, and I wanted to shoot for the best cooks I could. Tell you what was good, the Kurobuta ribs. I still have a few racks of those for New Years Day.

Here is Christmas dinner. I've probably done a hundred rib roasts over the last 30 years or so (not all American Kobe, of course). I'm not afraid of an expensive cut of meat.

I don't like fish. That is a source of great sadness for me; most of the great food on the planet comes from the sea, and I can't eat it or cook it. I don't know why my taste buds reject it, but reject it they do. Too bad, I'm sure I'd make one hell of a fish. When I was a teenager I used to catch fish (fresh water trout, salt water blues and flounder) and clean and cook them for my mom.
