I was born and raised in DC and have lived in the city or its burbs most of my life

in the late 70s I had to walk thru Lafayette Park - downtown - to get to work

there were a few homeless men in the park - I would see and recognize the same ones every day - only about 7 or 8 of them

there wasn't even the usage of the word "homeless" back then - we called them bums

I would bet there weren't more than 100 of them in the entire city

now, of course, there are thousands of them like most big cities

Amazon has ordered 100,000 electric vans for its shipping and some are already on the road

it seems to me that Amazon is just far ahead of everybody else - Bezos recently stepped down - it will be interesting to see if they can maintain their dominance - I would guess the answer is yes

Amazon is gigantic, and it's easy to dislike a behemoth - but then again it's hard to dislike them - they do a lot for the customer

last week I did a day at the beach - eastern shore - Ocean City

it was really nice - and believe it or not there were almost no phone freaks there

where I live - near DC - it's around 90% phone zombies

you're lucky if they don't smash into you when you're walking or driving
