Looks like it's going to be a good season. Aria Stark is BADASS!
I just want to see Kalisi and her (ahem) dragons :)
Quote: TomspurI think I missed half of the 2nd and the whole 3rd seasons.....strange because I actually liked the 1st season.

Haha, you them in a few episodes... I forgot what season tho.
If you are going to get into it DO NOT start at season three. You need all of the back story which is amazing!

I hope she has a lesbian scene with the Incest Queen. If she were my sister, incest would definitely be best. It's too bad she won't do her brother anymore just because he only has one hand. She didn't say that's why, but she was just being nice.

Haha that and the new haircut....
Quote: IzvorskaReally liked the new episode. The scene with Arya and the Hound was soooo badass.
Yea it was! I can't wait for tonight... Aria is awesome, I hope that that shape shifting dude that trained her how to fight comes back...

Arya is turning into a legitimate sociopath. It's interesting to see her progression with the sword and how her reaction to using it was so different from the first time.
On the other hand, the actress is hysterical:

(spoiler from last season, though if you don't already know the main plot line then you've been hiding under a rock)

I get so angry when people tell me they start watching this season! The red wedding is one of the craziest scenes in any show. I couldn't believe it (However, this is due to the fact that i don't read anything other than law books. Perhaps I may have seen it coming had i read the books...)
Edit: I've been wary of looking up guides on the Internet to "which TV episodes follow which books" because I don't want to pick up any spoilers that way either. Is there a non-spoiler version of a mapping between books and TV seasons somewhere?
Quote: petroglyphHasn't anyone read the books?
No. I'm afraid that I need pictures......some of the women, well, wow.
Great Series!
I found it very interesting with the descriptions of the food in the novel's. Prior, although I'm aware of the spice trade, I'd mostly thought of food as being more boring. It was for the serfs. To go astray from this thread a little, I just finished a book about the history of Codfish, which went back centuries. Interesting enough that we had to go find some fresh wild caught Pacific Cod yesterday and cook some.
MathExtremist, how do you think the TV versus book compares so far? I don't have access at this time to watch but would like to see how an author can take pages describing how to prepare a goose for a meal and how film can just show it and move on with audio and visual and keep the audience interested. I'm assuming the film just shows it and moves on with visuals, typically of young attractive people.

I read the first 4 books and gave up. Every time you would get invested in a character the author would kill them off. Found it too frustrating to continue reading the series and have never read the 5th book. Having said that I enjoyed the writing and world that was created and it's many unique scenerios. Have never seen the series since I don't have HBO.

Well said!
I found I wanted closure on two of the characters. I guess I'm again on a book hunt, our local used book store is great about putting me on a list and calling when one comes in.

It's just not the same if I don't get my weekly dose of the three B's - Boobs, Butts, and Beheadings.
I've read the books, and the portion of the book covered in this season is probably the best. Last three episodes are gonna be doozies.

I cant wait! my buddy read the books also and says the same thing...
Does anyone watch silicon valley also? Another great show!
At the risk of starting a debate( since everyone is perfect), there are lots of sites online where you can stream this for free with no hassles or hoops. If you are a saint(like me) and never do anything wrong, like speed. Then you need to BUY this its good.Quote: JohnnyQAnyone have Season 1 on DVD that they would like to loan me ? Our local video store has Season 2 but not Season 1. Go figger.
I want to hear everyone's John snow theories? Is he coming next back as a walker? Is the red queen bringing him back to life? .......
