I believe you can sign up for nationwide exclusion through MA’s program. They have some fairly progressive public health laws since they are new on the scene. For example every casino will have GameSense lounges. These are not the typical closet sized spaces to fill out a form with security, but a place to grab a drink, chat with trained staff, etc. I hope the appearance of their website doesn’t turn you off it has some good info

https://gamesensema.com/

The slots in MA also have a budget meter you can set up. It doesn’t nag you, shut you off or anything, just give it your maximum loss and it’ll show a brief notification at 25%, 50%...100% of your budget, then 125% etc

If you’d like something more mature looking, with additional resources check here as well: https://www.ncpgambling.org/help-treatment/faq/

They have a really good podcast

Good luck with getting the help you’re looking for. Hope you can find a way to keep things fun/healthy

PM me if you ever just need someone to chat with

Interesting subject in that a girl I know self-excluded herself from casinos in a mid-western state to support her ex-husband who was a compulsive gambler, but now he's gone and she wants to get herself off the list.
I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people. https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/betting-systems/33908-the-adventures-of-mdawg/

In MA it is not possible to remove your name from the self-exclusion list, however if it is your first time enrolling, you can only choose 1,3, or 5 years. You must finish your first exclusion to completion before you can choose to permanently self-exclude. If you choose to permanently exclude yourself you are SOL if you change your mind. I am not sure if they share your name with Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun. Probably not

So hopefully if your friend’s laws are similar she won’t have to wait too long.

I took a couple of Casino Management classes in school while MA was opening Springfield (graduated right before) and we actually had a few GameSense reps visit our class, among other industry execs

Hi, yes, I just started looking into it for her, and it looks like her self ban was for life (from what I can see, "life" is the only option in her state) and that in her state it will be Very hard to get off the list, must wait at least five years, requires at a minimum an affidavit from some kind of mental health professional as to that the person is no longer a problem gambler, also possibly documentation of treatment, and some kind of further attestation from some other gambling specialist that she is "okay to gamble responsibly," and maybe even more. Not sure how she would approach it in that supposedly she was never a problem gambler to begin with and just did it to support her hubby. However, in that she DOES continue to gamble (just not in her state where she lives), I suppose they might want to look into all that. Doesn't sound promising.

I know her pretty well, and now that I think about it, maybe she should be ADDING herself to the list in the other states where she gambles instead of trying to get herself off any list. Though far from a compulsive gambler, she rarely wins and keeps going back trying to win. Then again, I suppose we could say that about most gamblers. Myself, if I kept losing I would quit forever.

Plus also, don't they say that people who aren't alcoholics don't go to A.A. meetings? So maybe her "support" of her compulsive gambler husband had more to it than just support.
