So I made the trip out to Caesars to get my "reward." Normally for these giveaways require you go to bank of Kiosks and swipe & the mystery multiplier gives you an amount like 3x, 10x , 25x, etc.
However, the machines did not have anything on the screens, which was odd. So I swiped at the activated kiosks, but did not see anything regarding the multiplier. I then go to the TR center to ask where do we get the offer that was promised to us. Only to be told, there is no multiplier promotion and it was cancelled at Management's discretion...
I was in no mood to hear their excuses, so I promptly told them I will be gaming at Tropicana from now on because of this. I just can't believe they would do such a low thing and it really doesn't cost them anything, so why rescind the offer?
Were they comp vultures who were raking in thousands of credits through some dastardly means or has CET just figured they can screw with people and outright lie just to get them in the building?

That's horrible. They shot themselves in the foot with their canceling the very good offer without telling customers until after the customers were already in the building wondering why the offer isn't working on the kiosk. I say they shot themselves because a lot of customers would do what you did. Recognize how messed up what they did really was and straight up tell them they are going to go to a competitor Casino and not play at all out of principle.
To be honest, I am talking about the people who go to the kiosk first thing. For the people who already were playing and then decided to go to the kiosk later(I do this myself at times) they also would be pissed to see their good offer has been canceled without their knowledge. They just might cash out and stop playing altogether or continue playing but spread bad word of mouth later on through social media(Hello Facebook and Twitter) gambling websites, such as WOV like this very thread, ;)) websites such as Trip Advisor, Yelp, etc, and just actual bad talking to their friends and family. They'll lose revenue in the short run by rescinding offers without letting people know until they are already in the building.

Not a slot or V P player, but at what multiplier does your play become positive EV? Do you just go there and see if you hit a high enough multiplier to make it positive EV? And if you don't you just leave?

You were lying when you said you were going to the Tropicana right?
They are notorious for reneging on promised offers
Trust me if that's where you are heading you will soon be starting a thread praising the wonderful casinos of CET

$5 coin in on slots gets you a penny. So if we assume a 10% hold on most slots then 50x would make it even. Now if you find some must hits that are playing at 2-5% then you obviously need a smaller number.
VP $10 coin in gets you a penny. Good VP let's say 1% hold so you only need 10x. Again a better game and you may only need 5x.
Now if you get the 50 or 100x you can seriously crush VP but I believe they cap you at 10k worth in comps.

It's $5 coin in per point at slots. ($20 at E-roulette and not sure about video poker but I believe it's double slots)
Each point is worth one penny redemption
I believe AC has an 83 percent return as a minimum
Is that enough info to figure it out?

That's beyond horrible. It's reprehensible! SMDH! :(
I doubt the goal is really a positive EV; its more a "less negative" EV. I've seen various "regular" multiplier deals such as 5x on a certain day or 5x for Seniors. There are also some higher 'x's from time to time and spinners usually go up to ten whether they are physical or electronic spinners. I saw one promotion at 15x in one of those outlying casinos in Nevada but don't recall which one. I rarely play slots and usually only as a "break" activity.Quote: SOOPOONot a slot or V P player, but at what multiplier does your play become positive EV? Its a strange managerial decision but its not all that shocking. It could be that publicity preceded the notice to the programmers or something.

That...was a good post. Casinos that offer stuff like this to get people in the door only to renege should be outed in any way possible so that hopefully the bad publicity prevents them from pulling the bait & switch (bait and nothing in this case) in the future.

ABSOLUTELY, you should complain to the Gaming Commission in writing. If you do not hear back in a reasonable amount of time, you should follow-up. If you are a NJ resident, I would start copying my state senator with the first follow-up. It may not accomplish very much, but it is worth a try.Quote: 100xOddscomplain to the gaming commission?

Unfortunately it would do no good. They always put the disclaimer at the bottom: Management has the right to refuse or rescind any offer or giveaway.
I'm thinking there are hackers or comp vultures who have found out how get more out of the multipliers with little play on their card. I know a few characters in Caesars who will either sit at the slots and find someone playing without a players card and ask to use their TR card instead of nothing.
There's an older, middle-eastern guy who is there EVERY WEEK pulling the same stunt. He sits down at the table with a decent buy in of $300-$500 and will play the first hand of a Blackjack shoe or 3 Card poker round. He waits for the floor person to walk away from the computer and will immediately stop playing and sit there for the rest of the shoe. I'm sure by now management has figured him out and pauses his play when he does this. But if there is a newer floor person or it is a busy weekend night, they probably just let it go and let him rack up points with minimal play.
So it may be a case of a few bad apples ruining it for everybody. Or it's likely that CET wanted to do a dry run in preparation of some bigger giveaway scheme, that they may or may not follow through on in the future.

Not at all, I went right to Trop picked up my Gift of a Tumbler played for an hour and left $250 ahead.
I can appreciate that you've had bad experiences with Trop, but I personally have not. Heck, they at least have the guts to tell you that "Gift Redemption without further play will result in Rescinding of future offers." So it isn't as big of shock and you at least have the ability to save yourself from losing future offers.

BUT don't give the Gaming Commission plausible deniability. Put them on notice. If they get enough complaints, they would eventually have to do something. Or risk losing their sweet sit on their ass do-nothing jobs when someone in a position of power with an ounce of integrity asks them what it is they do all day long.
I am currently awaiting a response from my state's Gaming Commission on why they have let a certain casino repeatedly violate state law. So from that standpoint, I guess I MIGHT have a stronger complaint than you.
From what I have seen, the commission members where I live are casino lackeys, or if I give them the benefit of the doubt, just woefully ignorant of what they are required to do, which is to hold the casinos accountable. Even lackeys want to keep their government jobs. I documented the violations in writing. The violations were documented in writing last year as well. The Commission can no longer say they weren't aware of the violations.

I've written to them before for denying me a Cash Back rebate offer in 2009. Basically, they gave me the excuse of... you guessed it... "Management reserves the right to deny or rescind any offer they determine to be void."
So I learned from that day you can't fight the Casino industry. Like you said too many lackeys in positions of power and ready to squash the little guy without hesitation.

The remaining Comp multiplier day offers for the month and next month have DISAPPEARED from my offers. Truly a low class move by CET!
It was bad enough they made the offer valid on Wednesdays or Thursdays depending on which month, but to take it away completely is just absurd!
If anyone else has had this happened, I would appreciate you letting me know as this kind of BS has got to stop!!!

Not sure why folks still play there. Did CET players drink the kool-aid? Mesmerizing music by CET putting people in some kind of trance, perhaps? If I look into your eyes, do I see that the light is on, but no one seems to be at home?

Back in the day (2010-2015 last dates I was really active in gambling), CET had great room offers for table games players. Usually I could stay free at the low-end properties with moderate action. That's a big draw if you want a central point of operations (e.g. Flamingo or Bally's). Never played machines there and the RCs (reward credits) were just a small bonus.
Wouldn't be surprised if things have changed though.
Quote: AcesAndEightsWouldn't be surprised if things have changed though.
I wonder if the Caesars bankruptcy, splitting apart, and excessive debt levels are driving CET's apparent efforts to stick it to their patrons. Obviously, something at CET has changed, as many WoV members seem to echo your comments with their own stories about how increasingly disappointed they are today.

Been a Harrah customer since 1988. Definitely a downswing overall in offers, though 2008-2011 they were over generous, perhaps coincidental to CET reorg.. Tapered off now to small change amounts of fp, some free rooms, some not, a little food credit.
Perhaps I'm no longer their target demographic, though I did get a call yesterday from a new host assigned.to me. System-wide powers, but located in LV (Corp offices, not local property, apparently. )
So they haven't totally given up rewarding me.

Room offers will always be based on of market. 2009 - 2012 were not good years for Vegas.
As for the points being taken away, make a point to write a letter and tell them that you've taken your business elsewhere and that you are disgusted by the practice.
There is a deal at a local casino where they offered 2 - 6 times on Thursdays (increments a multiplier each Thursday) and if I showed up on a Thursday with the multiplier cancelled I would do exactly as above.

Their room availability and TR app make it very convenient to book a room at the last minute, even on weekends.
In my case, it is also the designated drop off and pick up for the Bus that brings me on the 2 hour trip. So you are forced to play the $35 Slot play Bus Bonus here and it takes up to 30 minutes to show up on your TR card. If you do not put any further rated play on your card, then they will deny you the Bus Bonus on any future trips.
So it is imperative for +EV and future rebates to put play time on your TR card beyond just the Free play given for riding the bus. But yes, you are right there is no real reason to play at CET properties on the main strip in AC. Caesar's is always full of high limit tables on weekends and Ballys/Wild West always has barely legal gamblers who wouldn't know basic strategy if was printed on the dealer's forehead.
Harrahs AC was a good destination, until they started changing the BJ tables to 6:5 randomly. Again, I've been going to Trop the majority of this year, I was just curious if I'm the only getting ripped off with the disappearing multiplier days.
yeah, my March thur multiplier days is missing for this last week of march on the app.Quote: BedWetterBetterSince there is no Edit button that I can see, I will post the Update here.

They are doing that everywhere in AC now. I do feel if the casinos reserve the right to not honor the promised bus bonus due to lack of play they and the bus companies have the obligation to have some type of warning before you purchase a ticket and take the trip
Right now the bus info literally promises that for a purchase of a bus ticket you WILL receive a bonus
I wonder if this would qualify for a class action suit. After all a purchase is being made based on offers advertised
Imagine if you had a coupon for free whoppers with a purchase of large fries and coke and on the second or third visit they charged your credit card full price because you didnt purchase anything else the last few times you visited and burger king felt cheated

Oh come on, like they wouldn't laugh you out of the courtroom for suing a Casino for a $30 Free Slot Play voucher? Let's face it, the majority of people redeeming the slot bonus are easily putting 10 times that amount back into the machines every few hours.
You'd be lucky to get more than 30 people with your situation of being denied slot play due to lack of follow up play. But you also were in the know about the whole Sands bus bonus scandal, so maybe you can form a posse of wrongfully denied players?
Haven't been to a CET property in over a month and just noticed my Rewards Credit balance went from 522 to 99 credits.
I thought you had 6 months before they start eating your left over credits? What a let down from a company that already has lost my business.
Good bye and good riddance!

I've found my "host" to be utterly useless. I won't mention their name, but I've gotten nothing but excuses for why I can't get show tickets, comped rooms on weekends, or better free play offers.
I even requested another host and that one, although nice, is not able to pull strings when I need things done.
I've had better luck at Trop AC so far and will continue to go there, I just find it hilarious that CET doesn't think I notice these little things.
Went to AC for a business conference today and stopped in at Cesars during the break. It has been over 6 months since I visited CET properties in AC and I noticed the offers on the TR app and website have all but disappeared. A few remain for comped rooms on select days and Slot Tournaments. But the Free Play and Rewards Credits were gone, or so I thought.
I inserted my card in a bank of slot machines and wouldn't ya know, an offer came up for 1000 Reward Credits! I accepted it and put my card into another machine only to get ANOTHER offer for 1000 Reward Credits or $10 Slot Play, I took the credits again.
Played some on the slots and won about $215, then meandered over to the table games only to be shocked to see CSMs at nearly all the Blackjack tables, even the $25 limit tables. I never thought I'd see the day these would make their way into a CET property, but I guess avoiding them for half a year will bring about changes you never see coming!
Decided to walk to Ballys and get a sandwich from Sack of Subs. Went by another bank of Slot machines and inserted my card and much to my surprise, ANOTHER rewards credit offer! This one was only for 500 credits, but still a pleasant gift. I then went over to the Sub shop and got a Turkey Club using all the accumulated credits and some left over from the last visit.
I couldn't believe that all these offers were there but kept hidden by Total Rewards online tools. Wouldn't they want me to know of free offers so I would potentially come down for a visit? Is their marketing department that dense that they think hiding or removing offers from a TR offer page is a good idea? I think I might just call my host and give them my two cents on this!

What I find beyond sad about the whole thing is that more than 2500(You also paid for the food with extra reward credits you already had left over from last visit) credits only gets you a Turkey Club. :( That's beyond sad. :(

Went to AC for a business conference today and stopped in at Cesars during the break. This has been occuring for well over a year now
I too theorize they dont want customers to know when offers are there but still want to say they are being generous by giving them. So people are pleasantly surprised when they do show up
It completely different than the hey here are offers u need to come in for methodology.
By piecing together mail offers and online offers you can kind of figure out the full schedule

Could be due to the fact that they take Comps at a 2:1 ratio!
