Yesterday, Taj had 7x comp promotion. My friend plays there and plays for big money. When he buys in for 50k, he bets between $500 to $5000 a hand on the average. When he buys in for 15k, he bets between $200 to $1500 a hand. After playing multiple shoes of baccarat, he went home. Next day he checked his comp status. Taj ripped him off. He got nothing. This is not the first time that this has happened. Usually, the shift that he tells about this problem pass it off to the shift that saw him play. When he get to that shift, they tell him that they are sorry and that they will look into this. After a few day, he is told that there is nothing that they can do.

If it happened once, he can accept it as incompentence. When there is a pattern, then he feels that he is getting screwed. Other players were also got given credit for their play.

Is there anything that he can do? Has this happened to anyone else? It looks like a bait and switch tactic or more like bait and I not going to give you what we promised. He is upset and rightfully so. Lets assume that it was a innocent mistake, what can he do about it. In the past he got screwed and it looks like the more of the same.

I take it "multiple shoes" takes over 1.5-2 hours? That's pretty ridiculous.

I don't play at his level and I have to believe there are different rules for multiple black chip players, but if I'm "playing for comps" I make sure to check with the supervisor/pit/whoever when I'm done when it comes to average bet and total time. I mean if they have it incredibly incorrect (like this situation) then you can try and correct them so you don't have some surprise the next day.

At that level he should have a host who would take care of it in a minute.

He was expecting about $5000 worth of comp at the level he was playing. And yes players make an effort to play on days that they are offering 10x comp, 7x comp, or 5x comp. Just because he plays big doesn't mean he doesn't want what he is due. If any one of you dropped a quarter, would you not pick it up?

The host gets him perks, like show tickets, rooms on weekends but comp is outsided of what they do.

Oh, sure, the host may not be able to fix things. But it seems to me that the host, by very definition of the word "Host", should be able to take the complaint to the proper person and get it taken care of properly and quickly.

As of now he has not gotten credit for his play but is having a pit boss look into this. This was the method that Taj used to screw him last time. They dragged on doing anything till they said it was too late and there was nothing they can do. Hope this time Taj makes it right by the players.

I have had situations where my comps disappeared. I know that they go away after a certain period but thay last at least six months. Has this happened to anyone else?

I still say the host can get it fixed quickly. Otherwise take the play to Borgata.

Friend finally got what he was owed. They gave him 10x comp for couple of shoes of baccarat action at $200-$1000 action per hand.

Trump is pretty notorious for weaseling out of their promo offers.

A few months ago, they did a promo for the Jeremy Lin bandwagon, and offered $17 slot dollars to anyone who gave their e-mail address to the Trump One Center.

What they didn't tell you up front, is you have to earn 20 tier points to get it. Either $100 at a slot machine or an hour of rated table play.

Fine, no prob. Me and my buddy play at a blackjack table for over an hour and make a small profit each. Go to the kiosk and check to see we've earned more than the 20 tier points needed each.

Go back to the Trump one center, wait in line for 20 mins and the lady at the counter says "You didn't earn the 20 points!"

We retort "Yes we did, check the computer. We just played for over an hour at the tables!"

She replies "Oh, well you have to check-in here first for the $17 slot dollars"

I say "But we already earned the points, so why can't you give us what was offered in the ad?"

She says "Those points don't count, you're checked in now. So go back and play again!"

We both looked at each other and said "Screw this, you guys are cheats!"

It's not the money that was the problem, it's the principle of not giving the customer what was offered after they met the requirements! 20 tier points earned should count for the promo, and they could easily apply it if they were earned the same gaming day.

No where in the ad does it say to "Check-in" at Trump One services before earning 20 tier points. Fact of the matter is, the lines for Non-Chairman/Signature members is very long(20 min wait) and why should we have to do it TWICE?

A friend of mine, said all she had to do was earn the 20 points, go stand in line and got the $17 slot dollars in one shot. So it seems they just changed the rules on the fly and wouldn't give us what they offered. Perhaps we could've bothered a Supervisor for it, but like I said, $17 slot dollars isn't worth it and we were already ahead, so we didn't need it.

Just shows how Trump goes back on their word without giving proper notice of ALL terms.

You know... its only a lousy seventeen dollars and quite frankly its not even worth much when you add up everything for the entire trip, but after all that rigamarole I sure hope your next trip to the area is to the Borgata. I don't know if the Borgata will ever offer you seventeen dollars for your email address but if they do they will make the terms clear and will abide by them without question. So I'd say that I'm glad you won at Trump but its time to vote with your feet.

I just politely "argued" with the hotel and marketing staff at the Plaza over a $11.90 resort fee that wasn't comped. (They said they would comp.) Always get what you were promised! Principles...

I said "The money wasn't the issue" it was the principle of offering something to loyal Card holders and then changing the terms after they were met.

I figured the 17 bucks would be eaten up quickly at a $1 slot or VP machine, so no real loss there... but anything can happen!

Just a shame Taj won't even honor their own promo and make a fuss over something so trivial like earning 20 tier points before or after standing in line to claim the prize!

It would be like Redbox giving you a code for a free movie rental on a specific day and you go driving to a Redbox location and punching in the code to no avail claiming the code was "Not Activated Yet" You're obviously not going to bother fighting over the phone for 20 mins over a $1.20 coupon, but you are going to write them via e-mail to let them know how you were not given what was promised and wasted your time because they didn't deliver.
