My pet peeve is they've got the self-driving cars idea backwards. Not literally, but what is already easily possible.

We do have smart traffic lights. Vegas went with that several years ago. It really did improve traffic flow.

But with current Ai we can fantastically improve things. Ai doesn't need to do anything but recognize cars are on the road.

Imagine. Instead of needless sitting an extra minute longer Ai could switch your light in seconds it takes to cause the opposing light to go through yellow and red lights at normal speed.

It would never even bother to change the light from green if no one has come down the other road for ten minutes.

It would pay actual attention to the conditions of the moment not the hour of rush or even of the last minute.

Worried about it might turn opposing lights both green. Just make a physical switch that moves from one pole to another. It physically can't make a mistake. You could probably add a few extra backup safeguards if you need to.

However, you might need to add lots more traffic cameras than currently.

I was watching something on TV that was a piece about London Heathrow airport. In the background they showed a Southwest airlines plane taking off. I had to immediately change the channel as it lost all credibility.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Overstuffed paper napkin dispensers. You either shred a handful of napkins or pull out a card deck thickness of napkins you don’t need.

People who stop in doorways.

I logged on to a subscription meat service I'd used in the past and was surprised their monthly subscription plan includes a box to tip the hard-working folks who make it all possible.
The older I get, the better I recall things that never happened

Everyone now has a hand out. It has gotten ridiculous.

You order take out, there's a tip screen when you pay by credit card.
I have No problem pressing $0.
I expect sometime soon you have to press 'Other' to get to $0.

Heck, there's now a tip screen for fast casual restaurants where they just hand you your order and you bring to a table to eat.
I also have no problem pressing $0.
I don't tip at McD where they also just hand me my order, and I'm not tipping there.

Tip suggestion on check (or screen) that starts at 18%.

Tip suggestion that says x% but it's after the tax. (So that 18% is actually 19.1% if 6%tax State)
I will go on yelp review and minus 1/2 star for that and tell them why.

Even worse if it's a buffet.
There, I will press other and leave the standard 10%.

Seat knockers. I'm peacefully sitting at a casino table, and people walking by just need to bounce themselves off my seat.

They're not tripping or falling, they can see me, they're just doing that tactile thing where they need to touch everything they pass as they walk, like the little kid walking along a fence running a stick along it. But due to the nature of table AP and my style of play I need to maintain situational awareness, and someone making physical contact induces me to respond.

People who leave their music loudly thumping in their parked car at the convenance store/gas stations. If I had a fresh bullet for every time that happened.

(okay I know it's mostly kids. Damn kids.)

On that note, people who Blast their Phones at Max Volume with Obscenity laden Rap or Foreign Music blaring because they won't wanna spend $20-$30 on headphones!

I've literally blasted Death Metal right behind them on a bus to prove a point... Which they never got!

Mere death metal? Oh no, that won't do!

Brahms is best known for a lullaby, but most of his work will blow your head off. For my ringtone I use a couple of bars from a Brahms quintet that's slightly familiar. So if my phone rings someplace it shouldn't it's not embarrassing, it's intimidating.
