Cynthia Nixon says she is "gay by choice" having been in long term relationships with a man and a woman. She was very specific in that she was only talking about herself, but many people were still upset because they felt that she just became a recruiting poster for people who try to change young gays back to straight.
They say could you be gay if you wanted to, the way you phrase it, it sounds like they find same sex disgusting, which isn't their point.Quote: NathanA Gay man made a good point. Something like,"To the people who say being "Gay is a choice," I'm gay, but do you really think I would willingly choose a same sex orientation that is still being ostracised, stigmatized, and harshly judged? Think about it."
I disagree. I think it is similar to a heterosexual who chooses to be abstinent.Quote: hwccdealerThe way I read it, she's bisexual and prefers to be in relationships with women. Fine. I don't care. But saying she's "gay by choice" is a misnomer.

Didn't Nathan post before that she likes white men?

Yes, but a Black woman liking White men isn't anywhere as stigmatized as a guy liking another guy.
