Yes, we should use some form of a STOP, whether its winning or a loss for the day. Most would agree with this, of course some of us have different definitions on the subject.

I think that alot of the time it comes down to GUESSING if we should continue betting....hindsight.

After I lose or win for the day, I WATCH for at least another hour, just to see 'what if'. Sometimes I quit playing at the correct time and sometimes I made the wrong decision to quit.....hindsight.

If you have the TIME (and BR) to continue playing, I think it comes down to GUESSING if you should quit or not, just my opinion.

Whatever the speculative activity whether a slow form like starting a business or playing the stock or commodity markets or a swift form like gambling all the wise successful people I know say "Cut your loses and let your profits run"
Gambling is a metaphor for life. Hang around long enough and it's all gone.

That's the way to cut your losses, watch instead of playin. Or in the word of John Patrick, Chart The Tables Before Betting.

It really doesn't matter if you stop betting having made your predefined target, if you go back the next day and repeat it. Mathematically it is the same if you just continued betting, it doesn't matter how you distribute it to different days.

It used to be I'd try different bars and different pickup lines on different nights ... I guess I just distributed the slap in the face and knee in the groin to different nights.
Now I go to different casinos, but Lady Luck is always there to distribute her greetings to different nights.

Very few bars had free buffets though. So I guess by staying at the tables I'm at least still in the game.

Its a time thing. If you're playing to make a goal,
its a job, not recreation. You can also stay at your
day job twice as long and make twice as much,
but is that really practical. Its also a matter of
discipline. Having goals helps you control the game,
instead of the game controlling you.
