Week #2 Question. Answers due by 12:01am EST February 12th

You are in charge of the creativity around your employers casino- and one day he comes up to you and tells you he wants you to think of some sort of gimic for the games- he dont care what you do but originality counts with this guy- its just time for something to be done so you think fast and blurt out...:

A) Blacklight Night Boss!- Special cards will be used with high-florescents on black background, the visual stunning effect will be awesom especially wiht the right colors and felts- chips, everything- it wont effect security promise, it fact might make things easier!

B) Edible Cards Boss!- Lets make em really have to eat it when they loose (I mean win!)- One hour with single use cards that the players are allowed to nibble on right then and there- of course any that are not done so with woudl be destroyed... fragile enough to show they been used by just sturdy enough for the dealer to handle one time. Very thin, very clean!

C) 'Be the dealer' pass boss!- Every card-member patron gets one hand at one game to use the 'be the dealer' card, only one player can use it at a time at a game and for that one hand any money the table/banker/dealer would have made is given to the player minus a small commision (10%?), but if the dealer has to payout the player must provide 10% of the payout to the table of players.- Ill iron out other contingencies later.

D) Silent auction on the cocktail waitresses boss!- For one day every waitress will have an armband with a number on it and at every table and cashier cage can be left a wager for the cocktail waitress- give half the proceeds to charity and the winner of each waitress gets a sitdown with the lady for say an hour at any of the casinos bars or restraunts- security precautions taken I assure you, as well as only willing waitresses- maybe we can offer them something maybe a cut in the auction for doing it.

E) Joker-cards Boss!- One day where every patron gets to use a pass for a single hand at a single table where they get to have a random card in their hand (maybe first delt card?) replaced by a restricted rules joker (A's/Strt/Flsh)- any tabel game.

(Reminder- your considering this from an employee viewpoint not from the prospective of what would get you as a player the best/most chances.. I knwo thats a hard viewpoint to break some of you from)

Now if you'd come up with a cross between (B) and (D) where the waitresses wore edible (insert item/s of choice) then I think you would have really come up with something original and exciting :-)

In my Private Message vote, I told Marilu that I had reasons that why all but one is unworkable, but that I'd post after the voting ends.

Here ya go:

A) Blacklights: I used to work in a nightclub that had blacklights when it first opened. Even in that type of setting, where they make things "cool", and people are partying, they are hard on the eyes, and generate complaints. Plus, they can make cotton clothing glow. White cotton bras glowed right thru many types of blouses. They glowed thru sweaters even better. Guys loved it until the gals figured it out, and then they had to go. In a casino, where you've got people of all ages and varying degrees of modesty, that would be a huge problem.

B) Edible cards: People complain how dirty chips are, and wonder when / if they ever get cleaned. Now you want people to eat cards after they've been handled by strangers? Fuggedaboudit!

C) Be the dealer: That option already exists in Pai Gow, and has varying degrees of success coupled by failures such as people who refuse to play when a player is banking.

D) Cocktail Waitress auction: This opens up all kinds of issues with discrimination in the workplace, as well as liability in the event the winner takes it too far.

My vote:
E) Free Joker: Some casinos already have blackjack free ace coupons, so a free joker seems like it would be easy to implement and liked by the patrons.
I invented a few casino games. Info: http://www.DaveMillerGaming.com/ ————————————————————————————————————— Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? 😁
