My weakness is chasing high uncapped progressives.
I usually play when the progressive is 3x to 6x reset, depending on game.
No idea if +ev but if not, should bring the slot closer to 99%.

This month I lost $3k chasing a $1k bottom progressive.
My worst loss ever in chasing an uncapped progressive.

I play when I've done a couple of loops around the casino and there's no more +ev plays.
So these high uncap progressives are the next best thing.

Even before this month's loss, I think I've lost more money than won chasing these.

They're a bad habit.
But to break a bad habit loop, you need to replace it with a healthier alternative.
But what?
Craps is paradise (Pair of dice). Lets hear it for the SpeedCount Mathletes :)

Lady Luck HQ was chasing a maxxed out Major JP of $50K on Dragon Link for 3 days. When she won it, it reset to over $27K instead of $25K, so it was counting up the extra and putting it towards the next one. I'm not inclined to chase a maxxed out Major now, but that shouldn't stop me from playing it or looking for them. I just won't shovel all the money in until I get it back on a Major JP win.

She also lost $15K just trying to get a Bonus on one of the Buffalo Super Bonus games. That thing is not paying off to save your life if ever.

I might want to up my denom as I pass by certain loss thresholds so a Minor JP would win me back my money. I'll be sticking to Lightning Link or Dragon Link for now. Phoenix Link is even higher volatility, meaning worse losing streaks.

Women? Of course, that might be more costly than gambling.
So many better men, a few of them friends, are dead. And a thousand thousand slimy things live on, and so do I.

What you need to do is delay it with another short activity. No need to overthink it, just have stuff you normally do, and do those. Of course you don’t want to pick something you really hate doing. Do as many of these activities as you can, but don’t worry about it when you give in and go play because you need to keep this practice up over the course of days for it to get easier to avoid.

So, think up a bunch of activities you normally do, or need to do, and keep it handy like in notes or messages on your phone so you have it with you. I would suggest short activities, unless it is something you really love doing, which is not going to become a harmful activity. But you can also break long activities into stages.

You're in a casino, and you're looking for habits? The ones available in there are all questionable.

But if you must, I recommend perving on the cocktail waitresses. They like it! Nobody takes that job if they don't like boys and making them happy. And then she will bring you better drinks.

I don't suppose each recent slot machine has facial recognition on it so it will only pay out when you smile a certain way first. Like when you first walk in the door and are all eager and you can hit a bunch of jackpots. Come back later and it's just endless losing streaks making you not smile anymore.
I did notice sometimes the machine will pay out a first bonus round on the 100th spin after inserting cash, on the dot.

I walked into the high limit slots room today and the first thing I heard was a slot attendant asking a player if he wanted state tax withheld. I have no idea how much that would be or if it's required withholding. But for jackpots over $5K, who knows? It could be 24% withholding for Federal and near 11% for NY State, or 35% total.
I also spotted a few Lightning Link machines with Grand jackpots over $100K, and Major JP's over $5K. They had High Stakes and Happy Lantern. So I'm looking up old videos of those being played. Mr. Hand Pay is just shoving hundred dollar bills into the machine for 15 minutes and playing higher and higher bets thinking this will pay off, it's not. The comments say he made it back, I'll have to finish it and see what he wins. He hit a $5K Major and another $10K on the orbs (81X his $125 bet on the 25 cent denom for 50 lines at 10X multiplier) for a $15K hand pay. I guess that makes up for what he shoveled into the machine, idk. The Grand was about $140K.

He accrued about 10,000 points on supposedly $50K of coin-in on this session, so he can get a $100 meal or room for all that.
