I play 3 card poker in a Florida Indian casino. They use automatic shufflers that deal 3 cards at a time. If someone hits three of a kind or better, all play stops while the pit boss reviews the winning hand in the shuffler machine to verify the win. If they can view all the cards played in that hand in the shuffler, is it possible that the shuffler can be programed to determine winning hands? When they first opened 3 card poker about two years ago, three of a kind and straight flushes were dealt more frequently than they have in the last 6 months, and I (and several other players) wonder if the game can be managed.

Is there sufficient technology to predetermine the shuffle and create known hands? Absolutely.
Is that technology present in the shufflers? Not based on what I have read.

What I have read is the shufflers have a feature to read the cards as they are dealt. So the shuffler knows that 3 of kind were dealt to one hand, but the shuffler did not predetermine that outcome. The floor can consult the shuffler log to see if a 3 of a kind was dealt, or perhaps some players were passing cards.

I have no direct knowledge of this topic. I am repeating what I learned via Google searching last summer.

Can a machine be programmed to give out 'x' hands?
Yes

Would it be worth the risk for the casino to risk being HEAVILY fined by the Gaming Commission to do such an act?
Absolutely not

The Indian Casinos in Florida are not supervised by a state Gaming Comminision.
