Today my bride and I mark 44 years of wedded bliss. Given that everything in life is 6 to 5 against what are the odds on that?

That shows a lot of respect and compromise over the years Martin. Something the younger generations seem to have lost. You have 2 years on me. Congratulations!

Congrats.

I went to the Post Office on the Saturday before Christmas
and spent less than 10 minutes in line.

So I also consider myself lucky.

I'll need 27 more years to hit 44.

It's your anniversary and you're busy online? I hope you told your wife you love her before you got online, otherwise the odds of hitting 45 are slim.

End being the key word here.. Unless you're a Mormon, then you get to spend eternity together. I'm not a Mormon, thank god..

I hope you bought a lottery ticket before you went to the post office - be a shame to waste all of that luck just to mail some packages.

Congratulations - My wife and I are at 32 years and counting. It is nice to hear about other long term successful marriages. Along this line, bear with me for a quick anecdote. We were recently at a funeral for my best friends father. He and his wife had been very happily married over 65 years. While offering condolences his widow said that it was indeed "a sad day because they were finally starting to get along"!!!

I'll weigh in with my 32 1/2 years of wedded bluss as well.

My wife and I have been very happily married for 35 years, and I don't think that 35 out of 42 is all that bad a record.

I lost count of how many years I've been married, was I supposed to be keeping track? I like the old quote: "Marriage is like a visit that never ends and you're wearing your worst clothes." Think about it..
