WTF?
Turns out the casino is using robots to travel the casino floor, offering cold water in bottles to players.
Sort of like a Roomba: senses obstacles, avoids them, moves on.
Then in the buffet a robot roamed the floor with space on it for guests to place their dirty tablewear.
Are there similar robots roaming the casino floors in Sin City as well?
see article: https://www.oregoncoasttoday.com/home/these-servers-are-doing-circuits
I walked into WalMart at opening hour recently and there were robot aisle cleaners roaming around, and they were very large and could qualify as a motor vehicle that could run me over.
I get it, they are saying "robots are going to take my menial unskilled job". i say good. How about learn some new skills and stay ahead of the robots. If you can't do that, why would I feel sorry for you?
Plumbers, Mechanics etc..
yes it is theoretically possible to scan you and i would assume it has way more sensors on it as well which could further help identify you without the need for your ID
they have these things in grocery stores near me although they are most likely different looking

A casino I went to in Prague had one of these roaming around for empty cups.
More than 6,500 slots and 1,300 electronic table games where I play, and not a dealer in sight.
Two techs to handle machine problems, two drink servers, two cashiers and four security guards on each floor.
Quote: TankoElectronic table games, like bubble craps and stadium baccarat are robots too.

If your casino has 6500 slots I assume you are in Oklahoma. Do they really only have 2 cocktail waitresses? That doesn't seem believable.
I don't see any customers, 2 cocktail waitresses is overkill.😂Quote: DRichQuote: TankoElectronic table games, like bubble craps and stadium baccarat are robots too.

Smoke free Resorts World NYC. They claim 10 million visitors annually and one million sq. ft. of floor space. Have yet to see more than two servers on a floor. These people don't drink. Coffee or tea, if anything. They don't even eat. Food court is always empty.
Two techs is the problem. If the robot holding your money, breaks down, you're in for a long wait.

I look at it this way.
We've gone to phones you can just talk to, and cash registers that are self service. That's about 50 years of time. So, it's kind of moving slowly but steadily.
The first assumption that machines will replace workers has proved wrong so far, but I think eventually that will finally be more and more true.
People will only be good for entertainment, like Squid games.

So it would seem: this article says the union accepts the reality so long as the displaced worker is retrained and gets six months "extended" pay.

Robots are being employed in the areas of hospitality and security currently; in Sin City, a robot bartender will mix and serve your drink at Magic Mile.
Resorts World NYC is not allowed to serve free drinks to players (The Catskills RW can because it's a Class 3 casino).Quote: TankoQuote: DRichIf your casino has 6500 slots I assume you are in Oklahoma. Do they really only have 2 cocktail waitresses? That doesn't seem believable.
