I don't know her, haven't played at her table. Still, a nice article. She seems like a good dealer.

Lots of connotations in that article. I always thought a female dealer had to have big jugs to be popular, and the article didn't say a darn thing about it.

It isn't always being a dealer at times, and it can be tough to be pateint with all customers. I've seen some gorgeous female dealers who were just miserable to have as your dealer, - and some bone ugly ones who were witty saints, great fun to have as a dealer.
A big challenge for a lot of dealers is to act like you really want to be there at that table at times, it really shows.

Nice article-thanks for linking. Makes a middle-aged lump like myself think I should try dealer school again next time I get laid off.

I do wonder about her and poker. In the dealer school they had here you couldn't learn poker and anything else.

On my lowly level I still agree BJ is most fun to deal. I dealt "Let it Ride" last night and it felt like the night would never end. Time goes faster at BJ. It flies at dice.

At the casino where we're regulars at, there's a dealer there who is going through a fairly rough patch in his personal life. When we're the only one at his table, he's miserable, and when there's other players, he puts on a show. We had a conversation with the pit manager and a couple of other dealers who said that they hated to deal blackjack because it was so monotonous. Their favorite game to deal: craps, because of the camaraderie with other dealers and the challenge of the games.

Craps is probably enjoyed most by sharper dealers. The ones who don't like it are the ones who want to be able to come in hung over and sleepwalk thru a shift. At craps you aren't a "dealer" as much as you are a "crew." My instructor told us "craps is the only game where you can 'give a little of '''it''' back to the players." Not that you can be rude, but a sharp dealer can make a double-meaning "gotcha" comment back to the player and get away with A LITTLE of it.

I add to that that some players even want the dealers to mess back with them a little bit. Some portion of craps players like to think they are really playing in an alley and throwing at a street curb and not the alligator. Call it a Walter Mitty thing if you like. Or the fact that craps is a communial game that attracts extroverts who like to mess back and forth with anyone from the cocktail waitress to the craps dealer.

LOL, I thought maybe, too, but there's a picture in the print edition of the paper. She just looks like a normal person. I scanned it:
