Lol two contradicting things from the article :

SBTech, a third-party vendor, controls that aspect of the equation, per the Oregon Lottery. But I think we can all agree on two things: A) That the lottery has the right to move the line; but B) the line should not be different for two different bettors.

If someone bets at a different time after the bets have been shifted then it’s not possible to have the second rule unless they happen at the same time.

They simply omitted the bets being placed at the same time I think. The article states the previous odds were still available on the screen so it appears they were simultaneously offering different price to different bettors.

This isn’t the first time SBtech has been caught with their hand in the cookie jar pulling shady stuff. I remember reading shortly after Oregon sports betting came out SBtech was found to have in a couple instances rejecting a live bet and then auto accepting it at a different price without the bettor manually accepting the new price, it was caught on video iirc. I’m not going to go through all the internet sleuthing to link it since it was forever ago but it’s somewhere on Captain Jack’s twitter feed maybe within the last year or so.

Nevada sportsbooks can change the line depending on who is betting.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

This is called bait and switch in the real world am I wrong? Funny story coin base did that to me when buying bitcoin. One price on purchase screen, different price on purchased screen. Bitcoin was one of the dumbest things I’ve ever only did once because I’d rather play the lottery.

And sbtech and draft kings are apparently combining into one company
