My wife and I started watching Three’s Company on DVD. We have the entire collection. It was originally on air when I was between 2 and 9 years old, so it’s a lot funnier now.
We’ve got 4 kids at home, and the 17 and 18 yr olds have been very difficult and emotional, since we have decided for everyone to stay home. Starting next week, they’ll start online classes, so we’ll see how that goes.

Know you're trivia on Three''s Company. Mike will quiz you on it.

I have read all the Reacher books as well as John Grisham books. I read a lot but funny thing is I have never read a Steven King novel. I am thinking it might be time to try one.

SK makes Lee Child look like a wannabe
writer. Any of King's books before 2000
are fantastic. The Stand, Christine, Insomnia,
Salem's Lot, the Gunslinger series, It,
Firestarter, Green Mile, and of course his
best work, The Shining. King has over 50
novels, get them on Ebay, they have free

I'd push for his short stories; the Skeleten Crew collection is fantastic. Though I suppose 'short' isn't quite what we want in this situation.

I'm not much of a horror fan, but found Salem's Lot riveting. Thinner was outstanding, but my favorite is a short story called Quitters Inc.
I'm not sure how available it is, as my copy is a limited edition of 7500 but Cycle of the Werewolf, illustrated by Berni Wrightson was a great read.

In Buffalo, there is an annual art festival (Allentown Art Festival) that has artists like them at booths stretching for a dozen city blocks selling stuff like this. If it exists this June or July I plan on giving it a try with them. I offered them $1000 for 20% of the profits.... like Shark Tank..... (tongue in cheek)

Nice list! My top 3 from it are Bull Durham, A League of their Own, and North Dallas Forty.

I’m going to add a little-seen hockey movie: Goon. Loosely based on the book by Doug Smith. About minor league hockey, but like any good movie, not really about that.

Thanks, Mosca. I really should have asterixed North Dallas 40 as well, not sure why I didn't. Nick Nolte's best film, I think. And I will never forget him tweezing the long blood scabs out of his nostrils. (No, not my favorite moment in the movie, but uniquely memorable.)

There were some people out there while the camera wasn't rolling. I was hoping to get a better shot of the jogger outside of Caesars (8:09 point), but you can barely see her in the video. She looked like a female UFC fighter -- very muscular and athletic -- my kind of woman.

I didn't notice any, but neither was I looking. I was on the southbound side of the street, where the doors are generally away from the Strip, and the drives leading up to the doors, like at the Mirage, where barricaded off. You can see that I got right up next to the NYNY door and that wasn't boarded up.

There were a lot of police just sitting there on Strip. I imagine they were pretty bored, but just seeing them makes people behave better.

I might go back, perhaps on my unicycle, and will check for that.

Oh yeah.

A couple or seven years ago, I read a book by Nate Jackson, a former tight end for the Denver Broncos: Slow Getting Up: A Story of NFL Survival From the Botton of the Pile. And I kept thinking that the game has changed from the late 60s until now, the equipment and the strategies; but the dynamics of the people is the same.

Peter Gent, the author of North Dallas Forty, was a wide receiver for the Cowboys in the 60s. The book is semi-autobiographical. I would recommend Slow Getting Up.

Good stuff. World Market Center is a furniture store; or more accurately a mall for furniture stores. That description may be accurate, but doesn't really tell the whole story. Open to the public under normal conditions and worth checking out.

Heard that the casinos were paying for the police to be stationed in front to deter any problems people might think about trying. I hope that's reason and they're not just finding places to hang out while they wait for their shift to end.

I didn't buy anything this trip. As a local you know as well as me that about half the restaurants are open for "to go" orders only. Usually you can't even go inside but you have to flag somebody down through the window to bring you your food. Some non-essential businesses are still open. When I went downtown, the Cat's Meow bar was still open. A bike shop here by house is still open, but let's in one customer at a time only and just doing repairs.

I would say about 90% of my tv watching is live sports. I have been watching some replays as long as I hadn't seen the particular game before. I am okay with knowing the result but I hate watching something that I have already seen.

I am not a soccer fan but I have found some live games to stream from other countries.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Dusted off the Season 1 Hawaii Five-O DVD set (the original HFO). Have made it through the first six episodes. The lead in was the Cocoon episode that was the HFO series pilot and first matched McGarret up against Wo Fat. The Cocoon episode was pretty cool in that it introduced the character backgrounds of McGarret, Chin Ho, Kono, and also has the fugazi Danny (who was replaced after the first episode). During the rescue of McGarret from the ship where Wo Fat was holding him Kono runs down the boat bridge-way and clocks one of the bad guys with the butt of the shotgun he is carrying. This Kono scene is probably one of my favorite all time TV scenes ever, my favorite all time TV scenes ever.

I loved the show as a kid, but I don't think it aged all that well.
Before the new series came out, I had a chance to talk to one of the people who gets a producers credit. My first question was would there be a Kono character. He laughed and said so many people asked that very question. I was disappointed when he said it was going to be a female Kono, but it turned out alright.
Its strange how at 12, I found the McGarret character kool but now see him as having a stick up his butt.

I know you're playing against a computer, but can anyone recommend a site where we can play board games against each other live? I used to belong to such sites. Maybe we could challenge each other.

I believe the site is

cardgames.io

But when I went to play against others, I think I'd need to have a facebook account, which I don't.
I probably should sign up for one......

It was supposed to be a miniseries, so it started out okay following the book (for the most part). When they saw the ratings were good they shifted gears and it became "Adventures in Domeland". Meh.

If you're a King fan, the first season of "Castle Rock" on Hulu is pretty good.
Have you tried 22 tonight? I said 22.

For the last several years, I've been walking labyrinths. Today I started building my own. After seeing a video where a man constructed an indoor one in about five minutes, I decided to go for it.
Got three concentric circles done before the wind kicked up, so I went to step 2 and started gathering the stones to line it. My original plan was to put the stones down so they touched each other but a quick guesstimate said I'd need about 4,000 . If I space them out to one every six inches or so, I can get by with about 800.
I had thought I could knock it out in two days, but I need better equipment. Knee pads, for one. I didn't realise how much time I'd be on my knees placing the stones. Now I know why so many paint them onto pavement instead of starting from scratch.
The older I get, the better I recall things that never happened

I've been trying a few sites since you asked about this. So far nothing I'd recommend. Pogo.Com used to be my go-to, but they've dropped most of the classic games.

Found a site out of the UK that had cribbage, euchre, backgammon, chess, etc. Not too bad for ads, but the interface is buggy and weird.

I'll keep looking as I get time.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

With stacks of time on my hand and stuck at home, I'm still procrastinating on all those chores that surround me.

Yeah, sometimes you just have to pick one chore at random and get it done. It doesn't have to be major or even all that sensible a selection, just do something and hope to get some momentum going.

My chore today is to replace the air filters for the HVAC system. I ordered 12 filters but only need four. I did something uncharacteristic for me, I bought the more expensive ones with a higher MERV rating.
