Quote: redietzI'll get the ball rolling. I'm rationing Married With Children from the beginning. I'm trying to picture what quarantine in the Bundy household would look like. No matter how bad we have it, Al would have it worse.
Lately I turn on recorded Married With Children episodes when going to bed. I still enjoy them but they do put me to sleep. I may still fantasize about Kelly Bundy.
impressed..I still am not. I liked the show ,just wasn't crazy about the pilot.
I also watched, for the first time ever, the unaired pilot to Lost in Space. No Dr. Smith or Robot. Interestingly, they managed to fit many of the scenes into later episodes. Strangest thing was in the pilot, Penny was a genius, not Will.

Like many shows, it started slow. Had to find it's way.

Jet Blue somehow was showing the pilot of Modern Family months before it aired. I loved it and was talking about it long before anyone knew about it. That show hit the ground running
Definitely in my top 3 TV Series.Quote: MoscaBlowing through Mad Men. Halfway through season 6.
It wasn't until the second attempt at watching it that I realized how good it really was. I think you have to make sure you get at least three or four episodes in before you decide one way or the other.
The uncertainty has me bordering on depression. I have planned for either outcome... if laid off - I plan to get drunk and lose the first half week - then tackle many things I have put off for far too long. If employed for the duration - exploit any and all opportunities to increase future wealth - short of price gouging or exploiting someone worse off than myself.
Instead- it's sleep well, I'll most likely kill you in the morning. This new reality is unsettling. Will my neighborhood band together and serenade each other nightly like Italy? Or will there be rampant survival of the fittest? And fark me - on my way to work- could I possibly find toilet paper?? Seriously? Toilet paper???
I sit here, no ambition to do jack squat but watch the market ping pong with no rhyme or reason as my only entertainment. Id love to watch Chernobyl or Altered Carbon or a multitude of other shows... or play some games.... instead, I sit frozen in this uncertainty.....

Lots of other TV, including the Office.

I caught a random clip on YouTube, and told Mrs we should try it. We were hooked from the get go. There have been some weak episodes, but with almost 100 that’s going to happen.
One thing I love is that it is so economical; it combines the best of old film making and modern camera. The camera shots are incredibly planned... and the actors? As James Cagney once advised: “Plant your feet, look the other guy in the eyes, and say your lines.” The camera catches all the nuances in the expressions and body language.
All except for Glen Bishop. He reads his lines like he has them written on his hand.

Thank you. I have seen a few of those older movies when I was young but I really don't enjoy watching things on tv other than sports. I did find some soccer games that will be streaming this week from the Belarus Premier League, I will try to watch some of those.

Nice list! My top 3 from it are Bull Durham, A League of their Own, and North Dallas Forty.
I’m going to add a little-seen hockey movie: Goon. Loosely based on the book by Doug Smith. About minor league hockey, but like any good movie, not really about that.
Quote: MoscaBlowing through Mad Men. Halfway through season 6.
For sure one of the best series of all time, and it requires repeated viewings to grasp it all. Don is such a troubled soul, destined to never be happy in life for more than a short period of time. The final season is all too real for anyone who has been on either side of a large company buying a small one out. I was in the middle of that at the end of my management career and let me tell you while I was not in the 60s the same things happened.
It is a show full of business and personal lessons in life. It is true to the period with how people acted and thought. Remember that "Las Vegas" show on CBS about 7-8 years ago set in the 1960s but there was no smoking in is? Not the case in "Mad Men."
Here is the thing that most people do not realize

It's amazing the sports you can find on youtube, and most sports channels are showing classic games. Last week I watched the Bucky Dent playoff game, saw Mark( the Bird) Frydrich throw a gem against the Yankees, last year's 49ers-Saints game, and a classic Cubs-Phillies game where 40 runs were scored.
Not to mention classic boxing matches, some curling and a few minutes of the Corn Hole National Championship. Yesterday I wanted to watch the World Golden Tee championship but got distracted by a Jimmy Cagney movie.

I thought the rule was politics discussion, this would not be politics. Isn't politics discussion, stating your opinions, but if you simply describe facts about current threads, then it's not.

The pilot for Modern Family has
a cult following in the industry.
They agree it's probably the best
sitcom pilot ever made. I've seen
it a dozen times and it's amazing.
Every character is nailed and they
never change over the 10 season
run. But mostly it's hilarious, one
of the best episodes of MF they
made. Nobody in the biz can
figure out how they did it, not
even those who made it.

I think that might be my viewing option as I have never seen that series. Should be able to kill a lot of time if I decide to watch tv.
Quote: TigerWuStill no lockdown in Oklahoma. I guess not enough people have died yet. Granted, I don't know much about this stuff, but I would think a lockdown would be most effective BEFORE things get too widespread. Isn't that how South Korea has been so successful in dealing with this? Half the population here is still living their lives like nothing is happening.
There’s a weird calculus about it. A couple weeks ago we were planning on going to Mohegan Pocono on St Patrick’s Day, but I could tell by the way things were going that they would be shut down by then. So we went on the 10th instead. Last hurrah ‘n ‘at. Had a nice meal, played a little, then PA got shut down a few days later. We weren’t concerned, but we knew were were going to be soon.
#MEETOO. I had delusions of all the stuff I would get done, I may have done about 10% of all the things I thought I would thus far. Getting breakfast in bed everyday doesn't help. I think one day I spent all day in my bed only getting up when I had to go to the restroom.Quote: OnceDearI'm still procrastinating on all those chores that surround me.
I did do a little bit of cleaning outside, had 2 BBQs with the wife, and I did some online gambling related things I wanted to get to.
Quote: Suited89You could buy 11 seasons of doctor who, all the star trek series, sell your house and move to W. Virginia.
As far as Star Trek goes, Netflix currently has the entire run of ToS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise. CBS streaming has the two most recent series.

Last night ESPN replayed the 2018 NCAAW basketball championship between Mississippi and Notre Dame, the second Arike Ogunbwale buzzer beater game. Even though we knew the result, our hearts were pounding watching it. Great telecast.
- See if you can get your hands on "The Great British Baking Show". Watch carefully and try to recreate the recipies. That ought to keep you busy for a hell of a long time
- watch re-runs on ESPN of sports you've never followed. I recommend curling (unless your Canadian in which case try NASCAR).
- order a beer brewing kit. You'll be less dependent on the supply chain collapsing for this critical item.

I have a soft spot in my heart for these football movies:

Invincible

A quickie made right after the 1961 movie, starring Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. Mantle is extremely charismatic while Roger is stiff.
Not a great movie by any means, but it's Mickey Mantle being Mickey. What more could you want?
