What do you think people see when someone is trespassed? Rainman or criminal? What do you think most casino personel think of card counters?

I'm thinking Gambling Addict if someone trespasses into a Casino. On a Gambling website, a Casino Employee mentioned seeing people who voluntarily put themselves on the Self Exclusion List trespass later on wearing disguises. The Employee mentioned how said this really was.

They assume someone was being disruptive or was angry about losing and said something that caused them to be tossed.

People assume that because they have met far more people in their lives who have anger, drinking and drug problems then they have met people who are Rainman or criminals.
So many better men, a few of them friends, are dead. And a thousand thousand slimy things live on, and so do I.

Ghosts! That's hilarious! Like nobody knows who many of these Bozos are!

Several of the most visible self-described "AP" characters on this site are also total sore thumb characters, would most likely stick out as total wrong numbers practically anywhere whether it is a casino or a cafe or an ice-cream store, are remarkably incompetent at picking up any social cues, clearly oblivious to the reactions around them as they look and behave about as out of place in a resort property as you can possibly get without putting on an orange jumpsuit with numbers on the back and plastic sandals with leg-irons, stomping around in ways that amount to having great big honkin' neon signs on top of their heads that pretty much announce there's something very peculiar about them from the moment they hit the door. People who can't specifically place them from here might not know exactly what's up with them, but will notice all the same and may sometimes think what they've got is maybe a gypsy pickpocket next to them or something, but to most normal people some of these "ghosts" are about the most conspicuous (and sometimes very loud) out of place goofballs imaginable, whether they are aware of that or not. To most people who casually read this site and eventually connect some individuals with online identities the term "AP" comes to be known as something like "Autistic Pothead" along with AP's close cousin "Drunken Douche."

This isn't an opinion. This is a fact from commonplace events which I've seen repeated many, many times. Here's a little story, which some of y'all will no doubt ignore. Go right ahead and decide to pretend it isn't so, because you don't wanna think so. But it's just one example of many, and comes from what is probably one of the most prominent vocal and visible "AP" characters ihabiting this little forum joint. The venue for this particular 'in-real-life' non-forum occasion was the Aria casino at MGM's City Center, which was pretty new at the time, an extremely high-end resort mid-Strip which is one of the most expensive leisure developments in the world, drawing a big part of its business from very well-heeled & international travelers. We are in the racebook which is tucked away at the far back of Aria, and not just part of the regular book but the separate section that's specially reserved for very high-volume IPT (Individual Player wagering Terminal) account race players. It is small, very prominently marked off, and relatively quite and intimate, as it exists in large part because when the place was built both the CEO of the company and the biggest shareholder and founder of MGM (were) major owners of top class thoroughbreds with personal desires to create the kind of place they want to have themselves & share with racing partners & friends.

Well late one Saturday afternoon a particular fellow who I know is a certain Mr. AP Wingnut here stomps into the IPT section, wearing his trailer park wife beater outfit straight outta "COPS" & carrying one of those giant cheapo plastic drink containers he brought in, plops himself down in one of the race wagering stations reserved for the most serious high-volume players, several spots down from me and right next to a fellow I know who does millions in wagering volume there for a syndicate from LA that plays in the big pick-6 carryover pools. For some bizarre reason, in case nobody noticed his peculiar presence yet, Mr. Wingnut Weasel slams his giant plastic container down on the oak cabinet over the expensive electronic wagering terminal with a thundering bang to wake the dead, and apparently in a lame illiterate effort to kinda sorta look like he was legit to be sitting there he then drops a scratch sheet for an obscure little trotter track on the working area, with nothing else. And the ridiculous irrelevant supposed race player document is sitting there upside down, stays that way in front of him, and is for a place that finished their tiny little race card several hours ago.

The legit customers of the reserved advance deposit account player seats around him react variously with a bunch of brief sneers here & there at the distraction of his gratuitous ruckus & a few giggles & a couple of impudent pretend-polite questions about the ridiculous transparently fake "player" and what bet he likes on his idiot upside down expired scratch sheet, and several dozen of them all around suddenly get busy checking & securing & rechecking all their expensive portable electronic equipment and other belongings they normally keep spread out to use. Then Creepy Wingnut begins doing his actual business on his phone. Very loudly, so much so that it echoes through the whole book and beyond and thoroughly annoys everyone in it, real customers and staff alike. And the business I (we all) are pretty much forced to hear him doing involves dealing with some people he's obviously sold some kind of comps to, including a conversation/argument comprised of him loudly dismissing some kind of complaints from what we can all tell is a woman tourist upstairs somewhere in the hotel who apparently just "bought" a room from Weasel the Socially Oblivious Conspicuously Creepy Wingnut, but is now having problems or is dissatisfied with something or other about the room.

Ghost? Oh yeah. Some ghost. You betcha, all ghostliness, if it is a neon douchebag ghost museum we're talking about. One example. Just one of many, and a very real one whether anyone in this "AP" trailer park wants to think so or not. He didn't manage to get himself forcibly trespassed/tossed (undortunately) during the time I was there (I was already starting to pack up at the end of my day when he sleazed in) but if he did I'm sure there'd be a thread here to the effect that it was totally unfair and was because the dastardly casino was really afraid of him taking them for zillions by [insert heaping load of bullshit here].

I suspect you simply noticed that AP because you have a sixth sense

"Your fly is open." "Nobody else said so, you must have a problem." Mmmkay then, fine. I did my duty, g'day.

So your take from that is that it's some kind of real big problem for others in some way (including me for taking the trouble to tell you how your fly is probably wide open) as people notice a socially inept (probably autistic) and developmentally challenged "AP's" imaginary secret disguised appearance is actually transparently ludicrous and is just plain stupid strikingly out of place behavior to everyone else around them? That's interesting. And kind of contributes to the point. But by all means, just keep right on with whatever make believe "mask" you want to imagine into existence.

The folks running that venue and I knew each other very well then, including several steps on up the food chain beyond the line staff. If I had decided I cared to take a few seconds on my end to bother doing so, I could have had the ridiculous "AP" douche bounced from there in an instant, and I know the staff who were there well enough to know they'd have thanked me and probably have tried to at least offer some kind of an extra comp for the scarce moment of inconvenience (which I'd probably refuse to accept). But as far as I'm concerned that poor imbecile and others with "issues" similar to him, in and out of casinos, are welcome to keep right on being oblivious, and can go right on concocting blame for everything in the world but themselves for where they really are in life, if that's what they choose. The responsibility is theirs, and theirs alone, whether they choose to think so or not. And I'm fine with it too if you chant about an imaginary "mask" all you like.

DD,

I need you to be done with this commentary, at least the disparaging tone of some of it. I'm taking it as hard but constructive criticism towards the APs here, but a case could easily be made for personal insults to forum members.

I appreciate the mirror. I think it can be very instructive and useful if people here take it that way.

Then expect to be disappointed. What you describe, as I understand it, is not something I'd ever be willing to comply with. I have never and will never do that. And neither would almost anyone else I know acquainted with the site, which might be a good of part why most of them are rarely or never seen on it, if some kind of deferential tone towards the general AP fraternity is required. No.

The fact is that this forum is to a major degree, and perhaps more so than other functions it might serve, known as a club for some well known folks with serious developmental and major emotional/behavioral problems. Who almost certainly shouldn't even be in casinos under any reasonable definition of responsible gaming. Now, I get the prohibition relating to any such singularly identified particular individuals (even though I think the policy is probably unwise and likely exacerbates what it seeks to avoid.) But some kind of a generalized deference about AP labeling and respectful presumptions about same? No.

Well okay but as far as that goes I'm asking myself to stop the discussion (in re: my part in it) for my own reasons, Already was before now, because I think any utility that could possibly be had from any of my experiences with the matter is not going to be enhanced by me going on further. I think the bare facts of the little event made whatever point can be made from me along those lines for whoever might be able to digest it, and I see no good and certainly no fun coming from me "helping" try to force feed it.

But: You lead me to wonder if there's anything in my first post above, the rather detailed and therefore somewhat lengthy description about a very specific example involving an (unnamed) person who was and is a supposed self-described "AP?" Because it is an absolutely factual account, with care taken for omitting anything personally identifiable, along with complete accuracy, period, and as I said it's one of many. And I'm sure not remotely unique in that. If there's anything there that's a "problem" for you here, it isn't one that I believe I'd ever want to consider "fixing." I would NOT be okay with that. That path creeps way too close to just plain helping to lie about the great big purple elephant right there in the middle of the room & contributing to some folks' delusions & actively enabling their sicknesses.

On the other hand, if my other second post in response to the childish and unmistakably personally insulting reply that followed is what you're getting at, then I'll certainly give it some thought whether I should make make that kind of reply & the like of it in the future. My reply to the reply may not have been either necessary or useful, and probably is void of adding any kind of information for anyone open to receiving any..

If you want me to look at something further here please alert me by PM, 'cause I'm past due to "unsubscribe" from it as I intended earlier before my post #2, so I'm clicking that handy thread 'bail-out' button now.

EDIT to add:

I'm truly amazed. Though I got about 38.53% of my disbelief from remarks on that by someone else in a better position to know, who I now must presume was kidding. Even so, I still find that... amazing, among other things.

Im sure everyone has had a bad or obvious experience with APs. To then lump everyone together is a mistake

I can personally attest to seeing horrible AP plays by Chinese (specifically chinese to where a Filipino AP literally corrected me when i used the word Asian in her words "Dont lump me in with those "expletives" im not Chinese")

Nonetheless i also know some good Chinese APs and wouldnt just assume ALL dont know what they are doing

Im surprised you seem to think no APs know their craft well enough that you are blind to them.

I suppose thats good. Go on thinking that. As usual what you dont suspect wont hurt you (unless you are a casino)

As per my first reply I assumed everyone has seen the sixth sense with Bruce Willis and you were gonna appreciate the humor. I guess not
