I think Trump was used by the north Koreans.

NK needed to present a credible threat of war and destruction in order to get the kind of aid they want. Trump offering to "go nuclear" was just the kind of help they needed to get what they want.

Getting rid of nuclear (or wmd's) is not the only risk Kim would face in possibly be overthrown. If his people smell freedom too much, they may get more tempted to scratch. Look at the Arab Spring; it may not of resulted in much democracy but there was a lot of toppling of power and certainly plenty of attacks on the status quo.

Trump is live from MI. He's such a
captivating speaker, you can't stop
watching. No notes, no prompter,
all on the spot conversation talking
to the people. Remarkable.

I actually teared up when he talked
about Chrysler bringing back 2500
jobs to Detroit. I remember when
Detroit was the powerhouse of the
world. And when he talked about
my MI city, that he came to the day
before the election, unplanned.

32,000 people showed up, with
thousands more that couldn't get in.
And the crowd went nuts for Trump,
people I know who were there still
talk about it.

Trump says when they left, on the plane
he told people 'who says we're going
to lose in MI. Did that rally look like
a losing rally?'

And he won.

All politicians are con men, but they're not
convincing speakers like Trump is. It feels
like he's talking to you, not at you. Like
he's having a conversation. I noticed
this long before I supported him, he's
very hard to turn away from.

I noticed it in Trump Tower when he
was stopped at an elevator in 2015.
He sounded like a confident boss,
like a leader, the guy who's in charge
and the buck stops with him. He
projects that alpha male gravitas and

I'm sure you also cried a tear when after Bush left the economy in shambles back in 2008, Chrysler received a bailout to keep them afloat. I'm sure, then, you were happy that Obama got elected and saved the car industry because Mitt Romney was ready to let Detroit go bankrupt.

I don't get why people make a deal out of Trump saying he loves the poorly educated. I mean, I understand WHY they say it -- which is to make it seem like his intentions are bad. If you watch the speech where he says that, it seems to be more of acceptance of poorly educated than something like, "I love them because they're stupid and easy to trick."

The end of the article says not to misinterpret him speaking at a 3rd grade level (in some cases) as him having low intelligence. I think that's kinda funny, since most people read the article and probably think to themselves, "Hah! This is proof he's stupid!!"

I mean, I think that’s what he meant, but if that’s the case it was a terrible way to say “I will be there for everyone, reguardless of their education” because it comes off quite a bit like “I love stupid people cause they vote for me”.

Exactly right. Every public speaker learns
the hard way that if you're speaking to
the general public, you reach far more
people by dumbing it down as much as
possible. That way the intelligent get it,
but so do the less intelligent. It's a way
politicians used to talk to crowds, it's
very appealing to average voters.

The Left is unglued squared over Kanye
saying he likes Trump. His wife, Kim
Kardashian, shrugs and says he talks
that way about Trump around the house
all the time, she's not surprised he came
out about it. Kanye hates that Blacks are
stereotyped and rubber stamped as
Dems. He says there's far more Black
supporters of Trump than anybody
imagines.

Anyone who has taken Jounalism101 knows that if you write a general interest article you use a low grade level. This is because it makes it easy to read and understand. Nobody wants to have to overthink when they are consuming news, save the overthinking for work. IIRC the only news sources that write on even a high school reading level are very technical journals.

Speaking to a crowd is the same way. The speaker does not want the crowd to get lost thinking on what they are speaking on, they want them to get it and keep paying attention. In our time the one who probably most broke this idea was John Kerry. He was always trying to nuance positions and sound thoughtful. It never worked.

If you look at the history of newspaper

That is part of it, but we were taught that news needs to be an "easy read." I even remember an episode of the old show "Growing Pains" where the snooty daughter gets upset when the mother tries to explain it to her, even throwing the college "Beginning Journalism" book in the trash. Then the editor told her how bad it was and to make it simple to read.

Complete sentences would help.dispel the strong impression that he's a moron. They teach that in the low grade levels.

Laughable that he was whining last night about Tester propagating rumors.

1. More than a few Republicans on that committee said the same thing. Not to mention the rest of the Democrats. They were told what they were told. They would be derelict in their duty if they didn't try to get to the truth of it.

2. Nobody in the history of politics has told more lies, or said more disparaging things, about other people than Trump.

3. The TRUTH is that the Admiral was woefully unqualified for the post. If Trump had any real respect for veterans, which he constantly claims, he would have found someone who could actually lead that agency out of crisis mode. Instead, he cared so little he stuck his "buddy" in there. Meanwhile, more of thrm.are dying every day while the chaos goes unsorted.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

In Deadwood there's a scene where
Al is helping the newspaper editor
write an article about the coming
plague. The editor wants it to sound
like it was written by a Rhodes Scholar.
Al want's it written simply so the
Hoopleheads can understand it. Al won.

Hemingway changed fiction forever by
getting rid of the wordy flowery 19th
century writing style, and replacing it
it with a concise 'the fewer words the better'
style that lasts to this day. It was a huge
amount of work, using lots of words is
actually a very easy way to write.

You what makes zero sense about that whole situation?

NFL players were protesting the oppression of minorities in America.

Conservatives claim that they are the ones who support black people and minorities, and liberals are the "real racists," trying to "keep the black man down."

So why were Conservatives upset that NFL players were essentially siding with their supposed platform? They should have been SUPPORTING them from day one.

Furthermore, kneeling during the National Anthem was done as a sign of RESPECT, since Colin Kaepernick was told by a former Green Beret it would have been disrespectful to just sit there. Where's all the gung ho military support from the right?

And finally, why were Conservatives upset that NFL players were peacefully and quietly protesting, when Conservatives were often the ones calling out minorities for violently protesting and starting riots?

People have been saying Kanye is crazy for YEARS. This is nothing new.

So if he's crazy, why are they sooooo
upset? They act like his opinion is
very very important. What do they
care what a crazy guy thinks.

Kanye West. If he's so crazy, why
is the Left so upset over what he says.
They obviously put great stock in
his opinion, they're going nuts
over him supporting Trump.

Have you taken a college journalism course?

At least eight of them.

And finally, why were Conservatives upset that NFL players were peacefully and quietly protesting, when Conservatives were often the ones calling out minorities for violently protesting and starting riots?

There is a time and a place, Let players act like asses on their own time. People paid to watch a game, not a protest.

Then you should understand the concept we are saying here.

Hemingway changed fiction forever by
getting rid of the wordy flowery 19th
century writing style, and replacing it
it with a concise 'the fewer words the better'
style that lasts to this day. It was a huge
amount of work, using lots of words is
actually a very easy way to write.

I did a guest op-ed once as an industry expert replying to a newspaper article. When I called to request being able to reply they told me the word guideline, I forget now, bus say it was 1000 words. First thing I did was write all I wanted as I wanted, then checked the word count. I had to thin it by nearly half, and the thinning and editing took three or more times as long as just cranking out the first draft.

Made me understand the saying about "It took me longer because you wanted the article to be shorter."

Journalism ethics

Please do not use my answer to one convo as the quoted proof of the other

Crazy???????
yawn
Who is Kanye West??
I lean left and I don't even know who this guy is
Sounds like somebody to be ignored
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

I've hated Kayne for nearly a decade now. I'm glad he's a Trump supporter. Just another reason to ignore him.
