Not only have their heads exploded, they have also been misrepresenting her idea and misleading dumb voters in flyover states that were duped into thinking a New York sleazeball liberal was their champion.

I don't think she is a lunatic
Yes she gets lots of media attention
That's power and she is smart to use the media to exercise her power
Its the power of the bully pulpit
Kathy Castor speaks, its meaningless, nobody listens to her (my congresswoman)
AOC speaks, its like EF Hutton, everybody listens, even conservative BOZ
that's POWER
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

To be fair, we don’t know if she is a sleazeball yet. But she is a great fundraising tool for the GOP.

And of course you would love her, I wouldn’t expect anything different. You seem to a champion of defending those you see as never being able to make it without handouts. And punishing hard work and sacrifice.

But without you and those like you, working Americans would have never finally elected the Greatest President of my Lifetime.

Thank You Stevo! Keep it up, we have another election to win 2020 and your anger needs to be there.

When did I say I loved her? I'm definitely in favor of raising tax rates to pre-Reagan era, absof**kinlutely. It's not even close. The data doesn't lie, but politicians do.

By the way, Donald Trump received several handouts/bailouts throughout his career. You ever hear of the 3.5 milly in chips his father bought from the Taj in 1990 so he could make his interest payment? Fred Trump was smart. He knew it was STUPID to give his son an interest-free loan where he'd have to get in the back of the line behind the rest of his creditors.

Or what about all the small family business owners that Donald Trump stiffed? How many of those folks went out of business because they won a Trump contract?

Congratulations Boz. You've been part of the biggest con in the history of our country. You actually think a crook like Trump is the greatest president of your lifetime. You actually think you'd have a seat at his table.

It's amazing how far smart and decent people have completely abandoned their values and debased themselves for this ONE GUY. History will not be kind.

Good point. I think it's a mixture of both. I don't think guys like Ronald Reagan or George H.W. would be electable in today's GOP. The party of Trump is a completely different animal.

Then it's okay then. I'm sure the troops will be happy to stay then until he allows them to visit. They waited two years for him, why can't they wait for Congress to come. After all, it's all just public relations, right?

It's interesting isn't it? The GOP's midterm campaign was 100% on immigration. They didn't run on their tax cuts because they aren't popular. They didn't run on the economy, which they could've and should've. So they made up this farce about an invasion at the border and they LOST, handily. Democrats just had the biggest popular vote victory in a midterm since Watergate. Trump shut down the government over an issue he just got DESTROYED on. Not to mention, all the polling is against him on it.

"A lot of people are saying it", it's asinine.

I'm reading today that tariffs on Chinese goods have reached the 13 billion mark. Sounds great, right? But who is paying the tariffs? The Chinese government? No.

Factories in China ? No. The tariffs are paid by American companies when they import the goods and are passed along to American consumers so it is a hidden 13 billion dollar tax on American tax payers. That's bad enough, but didn't we also give 12 billion dollars to farmers who might otherwise have struggled because of tariffs?

That's 25 billion dollars taken from taxpayers. China must be quaking in its shorts.

I have always supported members of Congress. Regardless of party, to visit the troops overseas and gather information from the troops and Generals.
Its about doing what's best for our troops regardless of politics.

I guess I missed something. Are you saying that both the senate and house passed the EXACT same bill that would reopen the government? If true, I don't remember the bill being presented to the President for his signature or veto. Or maybe the house and senate bills were not reconciled? Maybe the bills were not given to the President? Please enlighten me.

So you believe that Pelosi, by refusing to negotiate and passing a bill that has a zero chance of being signed by the President is doing her work? I expect more.

Hundreds of laws have been passed that weren't signed by a President. Congress passes laws and sends them to the government. If he vetoes it, they can overrule him.
That's how it works according to the Constitution. Good old Mitch has decided that he won't introduce a bill for a vote unless the President has already indicated he approves of it. Mitch has made the President a partner in the Legislative branch. That isn't what the Founding Fathers intended, nor is it what is the actual document.

Are you suggesting Pelosi should only pass bills the President will sign? The House passed the same motion that the Senate approved 98-0 and sent it back to the Senate.

Because it is a new Congress, the Senate has to vote over again. Someone isn't allowing that.
We need 20 Republican Senators and about fifty House members to buck their party and pass a veto proof bill to reopen. I'm going to guess they have about 60-62 votes in the Senate, and need about twenty more in the House, but that's just a personal observation.

If the troops meant anything at all to Pelosi, than congress should do their constitutional duty and vote on this everlasting war. She won't even let Trump bring our troops home, what a charade.

She just wants to fly around the world on the company dime, and not be present in the case of a vote to reopen the government. She can still go if she wants.

Going to "listen" to the troops? Guffaw. The longest war in United States history, and congress doesn't have to vote on it to maintain their deniability. **** them. Declare or get us out!!

My goodness, now I can understand why all those federal employees cannot make ends meet during the shutdown (sarcasm)

Average federal salaries have gone up because the vast majority of lower level jobs are now contractors. Most clerical, food service, low staff, janitorial, other unskilled jobs in govt are not federal employees. Those salaries are LEO, doctors, lawyers, ATC, meteorologists, PHD scientists, etc. And in every case I know of, if that job exists outside the federal government, the private sector pays more. (Some jobs like ATC and Coast Guard, are govt monopolies)

Yes, thia House passed the EXACT same bill the Senate did before Christmas. It was unanimous. The EXACT bill Trump promised to sign. But, after the Senate passed it, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh called the President a wuss for saying he'd sign it and he reneged.

Then, the old house passed a bill with the wall funding in it. But the Senate had given up and adjourned for the holidays when Trump reneged, so that bill AND the current one died. And the govt shut down. All under Republican control. The bills have to match (be reconciled ) before they're given to the President to sign or veto.

Mitch McConnell refused to let the senate even look at that house bill.

Also, a republican senator had a proposal, and McConnell wouldn't bring that to the floor either.

Since any potential veto-proof bill is being held up by McConnell, he owns the shutdown as much as Trump.

I have a MIL that just retired from the DOJ. She made travel bookings for trainees. The government paid her 95k per year and she now receives a pension for life. She has nothing more than HS education. I'm pretty sure private sector travel agents don't make anywhere near that. 40k, more like it, with no pension at the end.
https://hostagencyreviews.com/blog/how-much-do-travel-agents-make-travel-agent-salary
Government workers used to make less. Now they typically make 35% more than private sector and even more when you factor in benefits.

Maybe you should ask this question to the air traffic controllers who are not getting paid to direct this flight.

Hogwash. Are they hourly employees?

AF1 pilots got the bones to fly vfr. AF1 and the beautiful Melania can have the sky to herself.

If they [whoever you claim won't be paid ] are all so qualified as to make plenty mo money in private enterprise, now is their opportunity. Don't let the door hit them in the arse. Sayonara, hasta la vista, bye bye, adios.

Why don't all the liberals show some Semper fi and do a yellow vest thing? As they used to say, "put up or shut up".

This is pure gaslighting from Fleaswatter.

How about on a day that the Commander in Chief refuses to let a Congressional delegation use a military jet to meet the troops in Afghanistan and then meet the leaders of NATO because of the shutdown but he lets his wife fly on one? Evidently, our wannna be queen is more important to him than either our troops or our allies.

I don't know about this one, but sometimes these flights bring in stuff troops can't get easily or often. Sometimes care packages. And sometimes they get better food on the day the bigwig arrives.

If FLOTUS has a constitutional duty to vote on whether or not we should be in foreign wars, [as Pelosi does] and also gets to vote on the wall, then sure make her stay with her man until those votes happen.

Until then, do you really want the FLOTUS flying on a commercial aircraft? Does that sound like good national security to you? Love a president or not, during any administration, I as a citizen prefer the POTUS's wife be protected 7/24. It's not like she doesn't have access to their own jetliner. She has the rights of a citizen doesn't she?

If you can't even keep the speaker of the house in country in case of a vote, why do you care about what non government citizens are doing?

Pelosi and the rest of that clan care more about some other country than this one, that's for sure. What business does Pelosi have in Yemen that we should be dropping bombs on starving kids in school busses?

Seventeen years in a undeclared war in Afg,, why doesn't she vote to either declare war, or bring our warriors home?

Sounds like she thinks we should kill more brown people for fresh s'mores?

Maybe Pelosi wanted to check on how this years heroin crop is doing?

Senate Votes To End U.S. Support For War In Yemen, Rebuking Trump And Saudi Arabia

The Senate voted with support from lawmakers in both parties Thursday to end U.S. military support for Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen. The 56-41 vote marks the first time the Senate utilized powers granted under the 1973 War Powers Act, which gives Congress the power to demand an end to military actions.

The house was still republican controlled in December. They didn't vote on it by years end, so nothing.

Just broke.

Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress about Moscow Trump Tower. As President, he suborned perjury. As President, he issued orders about his private business.

Cohen admits it. They had electronic proof before he confessed.

This is clear and unambiguous obstruction of justice.

Buzz feed broke it.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.
