What are the odds of a player being up three units with a 14 unit bankroll.

My goal is to win 3 units before they win 14 units from me.

Only thing I could do is a simulation if you want, but Blackjack is not the best game if your goal is to finish exactly three units ahead.

The reason why is because Basic/Optimal strategy dictates that you must Split/Double sometimes, further, Blackjacks pay 3:2.

While the house edge would be slightly greater (usually) something like the Pass Line at Craps might be better for something like this. A decent strategy would simply be to bet whatever it would take to be three units ahead, if your remaining stack is such that is not possible, bet everything, rinse, repeat.

Just figure and average of 3 units. I kind of look at blackjack like being on a swing as a child. Just as the swing goes back and forth so do your fortunes in blackjack. I used this type of system 20 plus years ago and had a nice run at the $25.00 level.

I"m now looking to move up to the 50-100 level. I do use some counting and basic strategy, but have found like with the swing I just jump off when I'm ahead whether it be one two or three units. I recall all the times, I've gotten up only to give it back before the shoe ends.
