2 best VP games in the casino:
$2 9/7 DB (99.1%) costs $10 coin-in per point
$5 9/6 JoB (99.54%) costs $20 coin-in per point

So effectively, DB costs 9 cents per point and JoB costs 9.2 cents per point,
For both, you're going to get a w2-g tax form only for the 2 highest paying hands.
ie: Quad Aces and a Royal for DB, Straight flush and a Royal for JoB

and even though you will earn points slightly faster with JoB because of the $5 denom, I prefer DB because of the excitement of getting the special quads.
125 coins for quads is so boring now.

I'm willing to sacrifice .2 cents EV to play a game I will enjoy more.
but God help me if next year I find special quads boring and want quads with kicker.
ie: 9/6 DDB (99%) @ $10 coin-in per point

Now I'm sacrificing 1 cent EV over Double Bonus.
And that Slippery slope would be getting steeper, which is bad...
Craps is paradise (Pair of dice). Lets hear it for the SpeedCount Mathletes :)

I don't play any of the bonus or double bonus variations, but as they are much more volatile than JOB, the swings dictate larger bankroll.
While getting smaller payouts for quads is a bit boring, the swings in DDB and it's like isn't for meek little old me.
The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction is supposed to make sense.

I tend to do it just the opposite. If I am playing a lower EV game it is usually to reduce the variance. I find all video poker boring so I am never playing it for fun.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Different strokes and all of that. I tend to agree it's boring overall but if work was fun, it wouldn't be called work.

Its always strange to hear the term "work" when its in a crowded, noisy and festive casino that is chock a block full of free booze and lovely young ladies, many of whom are definitely 'working'. The casino sends Tray Lizards around and sometimes a craps dealer will order a cocktail but he never gets brought one but the casino has no hesitancy in serving booze to the players.

Is it work? Yeah, it is. Either way though, its your time and your money and if get frustrated at some game, its best to play a different one and keep your mind on it without distracting influences.

If you are memorizing entire shoes and carrying out mathematical calculations to fourteen decimal places, fine. I hope you make money doing stuff like that because it sure would be work, not fun, for me.
