Like who, the cops? I don't think the cops or anyone would have any reason to plant anything on me. I don't have illegal stuff on me or in the car, so it's not a big deal to me.Quote: onenickelmiracleSo what if someone plants or drops drugs or guns in your car? That doesn't sound smart giving consent because they should have no reason to even want to search your car. They're just playing lottery.
Many of us have not been given tickets and many of us have never consented our vehicles searched as well.
One time I was picking up a friend in a bad neighborhood and did a rolling stop.
Another time I was driving an old pickup truck in a nice neighborhood on my way to help someone move. I was driving too slow looking for the address and I didn't signal a turn(if I were a cop I would have been suspicious.)
The 3rd time there was way more to it(I may or may not have had something illegal, I don't know), but ill save that for another time.
Quote: AxelWolfI would bet the yes.
I know this doesn't account for all crime involving cars, but I read some place that 56% of car jackings are committed by blacks 21% by white people, 16% other, and 6 % multiple races.
I read somewhere that 115% of statistics on the internet are BS., and the rest are misinterpreted.
You are probably right, I think it's much higher for blacks and Latinos.Quote: billryanI read somewhere that 115% of statistics on the internet are BS., and the rest are misinterpreted.
Turn signals are normally a seconclary offense, cannot get a ticket unless another offense was the reason you were pulled over, like an accident. It's the excuse of for safety they can pull you over.Quote: AxelWolfLike who, the cops? I don't think the cops or anyone would have any reason to plant anything on me. Quote: TigerWuAre black people more likely to commit crimes involving a vehicle in some way? Because that would be the only reason it would make sense to pull them over more often.
That's how my brain works in this situation, but then again I'm not black or a cop.
Yes they do. Despite the stereotype that asians are bad drivers, blacks are the only race that is more likely than all other race to get in a vehicular accident, and disproportionally so.
Perhaps not, but some cars ARE 100% gay.Quote: RogerKintCars are racist.

Not so funny story, I was driving my Father's Miata and had a platonic male friend in the passenger seat. We were in a parking lot about to pull out, and this lifted up truck plastered in confederate flags rolls up. Some redneck hops out and starts screaming at the top of his lungs that he won't tolerate bundles of sticks in his country. I got the hell out of there as fast as I could. I'm not even gay. To date it's the only time I've ever felt in danger in a public place.
Did he actually say bundles of sticks or did he use the other word?Quote: gamerfreakNot so funny story, I was driving my Father's Miata and had a platonic male friend in the passenger seat. The other word.
My Dad is married to my Mom. He regularly takes it on the chin from his buddies for driving that car. That was probably not the greatest euphemism to prove my point.
Miatas are great cars though, just super duper fabulous.

At least you pulled out in time.
