I was talking to a neighbor who has lived here since the mid-80s. She tells me back then, slots and video poker machines were all uprights that you stood at.
When did the transition to chairs happen?
The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction is supposed to make sense.

Anyone put in recliners and footstools yet? You know, you just pull the machine from in front of you, to over the top of you as you settle back into feather pillow luxury? OK, you might have to program the chair to gently wake you up occasionally. Could be done with electrical shock, just gentle to start, then working up to full lightening strike! Or it could just gently turn over laterally, dump you on the floor and make room for the next 'guest' ;-)
Youuuuuu MIGHT be a 'rascal' if.......(nevermind ;-)...2F
