I want to extend Appy Polly Loggies (that's A Clockwork Orange reference for those confused) to any and all who were directly or indirectly affected by the Plaza promotion post.
People have asked what was in it for me to announce the promotion. No one asked what was in it for me to destroy it from 2000 miles away (the answer is I had no reason to destroy it).
I saw it advertised by chance and thought, "Gee, I would be real upset if I lived in Vegas and had missed this. Let me make certain my fellow AP's at WOV don't miss this opportunity.
I envisioned receiving PM's saying "Thanks, Darkoz, without you we would not have made such a nice profit. We had almost missed that one. You're our hero."
I did receive lots of PM's. They weren't quite what I envisioned.
And you know what happens when you try to be of service and everyone hates you for it? You become defensive.
And becoming defensive just creates a snowball or landslide towards further angering people as you try to prove your point that no one saw in the first place.
So, good intentions gone bad.
Again, Appy Polly Loggies and I hope we can all move on.

A Clockwork Orange is one of my favorite movies of all time so I'm ashamed at myself that I didn't immediately get the reference. Here is a clip of the scene in question.
I won't be flagging this one.Quote: darkozHi, guys, I'm back!

-10 for posting it
+1 for this post ☺
But seriously, it's all good, I'm 100% convinced you didn't post to intentionally cost anyone money.
I'm sure you had good intentions.
I can move on.

I'm A Clockwork Orange fan too. Are you familiar with the book or just the movie?
Here are some tidbits about the book vs. movie.
The book was much more violent and shocking. Kubrick shot most of it but had to eliminate material to avoid an X rating.
The main character, Alex, likes to drink milk. The film barely hints that the milk was laced with drugs that sparked euphoric highs when doing violence. The drugs were futuristic. Imagine Ecstacy that makes you happy through violence. The milk bar was shown in the film but doesn't explain it is the bar that was spiking the milk so Alex was being supplied drugs from the very beginning by society.
The writer forced to watch his wife raped was autobiographical. Anthony Burgess wife let in four Navy officers who did the attack. Their white Navy uniforms inspired the white outfits of the gang.
The age of Alex is unspecified in the film but he appears going on 20. In the book, he is 15.
The famous scene of him bringing two women home and sexing them in high speed to the tune of the William Tell Overture was a way of Kubricks getting around the real content of the scene from the book. In the book, the two girls are ten years old and he violently rapes them after drugging them to teach them an adult lesson since they cut their classes(yes, a bit hypocritical of him).
The ending to the book also has a brouhaha but I will get into that next time.

Both! I, of course, read the UK version with the full 21 chapters. For those who don't know, the American version of the book, and the movie, leave off chapter 21.
Thanks for the CO trivia, most of which I already knew.
