It is all free. He does not hold seminars to understand his math or methods.
Anyone can run a computer sim and see what he writes about is true.
I thank him for the time he puts into his sites for us all that "need to know this, or need to know that"
Someone on this forum, just bashed Stan Wong in another post. OK fine. We all have our opinions of facts about gambling writers who charge money for their "Do it this way, or Do it that way" Books and DVDs. Why does the Wizard not bash other writers? He probably has better things to do.
Does paying for some one's info make it more credible, just because you paid for it?
I think we all know about Singer and Dancer in VP, Scoblete and all his Dice Control/Influence books.
Dancer sells VP strat cards, they are all free from the Wizard. Do we slam one for selling or the other for not selling.
It would be interesting to hear The Wizards take on all this stuff.

How about from know-it-all JL?
I'm the one who complained about how S. Wong operates. I agree the Wizard has better things to do but I'm just a joe schmo gambler with opinions. I actually like Scoblete because he entertains while he sells, even though I don't believe the baloney about dice influencing. I looked on Singer's site and he sells only 2 books and says neither talks about strategy. That is correct because I bought one last year and he had the other one sent to me at no charge. Dancer is the consumate pitchman who's probably the #1 salesman of the bunch. He never met a video poker item he couldn't somehow sell. But I actually learn something from all these and other personalities. Like them or not, I'm happy they're around.

I agree with you 100%. Well done.
That should be the bottom line. Learning something!

That's a good reason to buy the book. You can take it along on gambling trips, and it would be cheaper, and more convenient, than lugging along a laptop or netbook and paying for Wi-Fi. A hell of a lot cheaper if you don't currently own a laptop or netbook, too.

If you buy the cards, assuming the strategies are comparable to the Wizard's, the it saves you the trouble of printing them and getting them laminated. I see nothing wrong either way.

I've always used my internet-capable phone (Motorola Droid, currently, and previously, an LG ENV Touch) to get information from the WOO website. I find that the WOO website, while not perfect on a mobile browse, is still very good.
As an example, my most recent trip involved a short time playing 4-card poker. As I was playing, I realized that while I was receiving 5 cards to make my hand, the dealer was receiving 6 cards. Surely, this was an abomination. After playing, I looked on the WOO site, and that's exactly how the game is described. I guess I could have sworn that when it first came out, the dealer only received 5 cards, but only qualified on certain hands. But it was nice to have the website there, and quickly available to me.
I think most of us knew that. I think 7winner was deliberately not naming you, in an effort to prevent this thread from degrading.Quote: JerryLoganHow about from know-it-all JL?

Nice to see that it hasn't
Quote: WizardI never claimed that my book had information not available on my site. The purpose is to have the basics in one concise form that is easy to carry around. It also reaches an audience that doesn't use the Internet. If anybody doesn't like it, that is what refunds are for. The return rate on my book is very low, I think under 1%.
You might increase the return rate on your book by offering autographed copies of the book for twice as much money.

Thanks, but I doubt that would help.
1) How to play correctly mathematically
2) Schemes and systems to beat the house, some of which are just ridiculous, and some of which can work short term.
I'd pay for #1 as a reference and as reinforcement for discipline
I'd never pay for #2, but it's fun to read them for free.
I enjoy reading Al Krigman's deconstructions of betting schemes over at Casino City Times.
