I don't know how exactly how it happened, but the other day I was thinking of the song Memories as sung by Elvis Presley, and I went on YouTube and watched him singing it. This was his 1969 show when he was dressed in black leather and the girls at each side of him are looking at him adoringly and lovingly--it's really quite a sight.

You know, the song is somewhat dated with the expressions of purple haze ang different kinds of lyrics from the late 60s, but what a magnificent singer he was; what charisma. There's never been anyone like him. His run at the Hilton is unsurpassed. My girlfriend saw him there around 1970.

I have a bunch of live recordings of Elvis shows from the Hilton.
Elvis always puts on a good show.
Quite the entainer, chats with the audience between songs sometimes telling stories
Always opens with CC Rider
Was just listening to a show couple days ago and he talked about karate after a song
He was very proud of his karate skills
Just passed the old Hilton yesterday, that Westgate sign on the hotel looks cheap.
Times have changed
Its just a forum. Nothing here to get obsessed about.

I've been to a few Elvis concerts. The last one was in May of 1977 in what was then called the Providence Civic Center. A friend had just turned 21 and a group of us took her to see her favorite performer. Yes, he opened with C. C. Rider. My wife has the tickets somewhere. I'm not sure of the price but I want to say around $15 or so.

Elvis was dead less than three months later.

Then this had to be in the period when Elvis had gained the weight and had a potbelly. It was a sad end. I would certainly guess that the demise of his marriage added to his woes. I know he had a lot of girlfriends but I don't think he indiscriminately just slutted around like Sinatra.

I might've already commented on your post before but I'm too tired to look back and see if I did or not. It doesn't matter, I'm just making a new observation.

Elvis always looked to me like the kind a guy who never lifted a finger to do anything. So it's so interesting that he was like some black belt or something in karate which means he had to be a really physical guy. He just always looked so kick back and so relaxed.

Haha I could try but my funny posts just come across as someone trying too hard to be funny. My AP posts are nonexistent because the little I know I keep to myself. Math... no, just no. Personal posts, nope, too paranoid, don't even have a Facebook acct. That leaves me with questions, which usually I have google for :) But thanks for the encouragement. I'll try.

It's interesting that you keep your AP knowledge to yourself. I feel the same way most of the time.

The more you say about what you know the more It gets used and the more it gets used the more the pit/casino see it and the more the pit/casino see it the more likely they are to do something about it and then you've lost the advantage because you blabbed.

Perhaps we can share some information. If you like I can send you a PM. Tell me which areas of AP interest you and if I have something to share I will. I'll tell you something good and you tell me something in return if we feel there's value there we'll share more sound good?

Yes. Were you able to catch the video on YouTube of him singing memories in 1969 in the black leather suit?

When the sideburns got really big and long they were called mutton chops for those old enough to remember. I don't know how old you are but I'm 61. This is the first time I've mentioned this on this website--that's the same age as Mickey Crimm in case you're interested in his escapades. Quite a character, one-of-a-kind.

Well, I don't play slots at all so I have no idea what you're up to there, but I mostly could give you information regards comps, blackjack and working the system. If you're in Vegas you probably don't do much of that but there are some interesting techniques. No illegal moves, there're strategy moves in blackjack depending on how many people are at place at the table or not. Ever heard of the quadruple down? It's a blackjack move
Stanford Wong talked about in his book. I've never tried it and I don't want to but I've thought about it. My play and my betting is always on the up and up There are just other little strategies to gain an advantage here and there. I know some things and do some things that I've never seen published anywhere.

Ever read the book cheating at blackjack and cheating at blackjack squared? Well I'm a rusty amateur magician so his techniques appeal to me. Dustin D marks was the author.

I know a lot about cheating moves at blackjack and what to look for. John Scarne is the bomb on this topic. Weird, but I've never seen his name on this forum. (His blackjack strategy was just pure garbage.)

It's not like I'm a huge fan of Elvis, no disrespect, he was simply before my time. As for blackjack, in my eyes it's tougher than the road less taken. I'm just no good at it. Count me as one of the few full timers(really just part time) that actually believes in the possibility of dice influence. Now I don't play craps, or any tables at all, but I felt like letting that out. I guess we have different interests it seems. Many different ways to skin a cat. Isn't that the saying? God I hope I didn't just make that up. That's pretty awful.

And those books are pretty far from my own interests. Although I can see how they might protect yourself at the tables.

Amateur magician you say? You happen to know how they always stab the right card out of a messy deck spread out on the table? Just being curious/nosy.

Sometimes in the 50's, before he was drafted, there would
be a short line of hot girls outside his hotel room, all pre
screened. He would screw 4-5 of them a night. When asked
about it his comment was, heck man, they wanted me, what
was I supposed to do.

Yes, I know how they do it. But if I told you then I'd have to kill you. Rule #1 of the magician is never to reveal the secret.

Have you ever gone to a WoV get together? Which general part of Vegas do you live in? Do you like living there?

Always wanted to but never did. I just value my privacy too much. I even wanted to be the first to complete the Mcgnugget challenge because I think I can. But again, privacy trumps. That's mostly why I don't post much. And FWIW, I've eaten 3&1/2 lbs. of assorted candy in 3.5 hours before. Could only hold it in for 5 minutes after though so it wouldn't be me.

Out in Hendertucky. Love it, with sprinkles of hate. Plenty of buffoons here. Had a cactus stolen from me recently. Who the heck steals a cactus!? Probably a kid but whatever. But yeah mostly love it.
