This is a thread to discuss the new font.
It seems that the letters h,m,n, have strangely low bottoms.
The letters t and u seem to be too tall.
So when you type it looks like the letters are "bouncing" up and down in a non-serious fashion.
Examples: human. nuts, mutts, huts. thin mints. tin. stungun.

Thoughts?

It's preventing me from reading the forum for
longer than 5 min. I'm getting eye strain very
quickly.

It's worse in bold. The lowercase f is too low, and lowercase e is too tall.

From what I see, I'm ok with the size of e:
eaioaoeiaeoaieoaieoaie

Also I'm ok with the f, looking at the bottom of the letter: fefifofum. Looking at where the top ends up: ft fh fl.

Let's play around with bold. thin mints. the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

Hmmm... apparently the old formatting codes don't work:

Well I'm glad. I wasn't trying to be dramatic, just wanted to discuss. Us math types tend to get all bothered when things don't line up the way we expect :-D

Maybe try a serif and see how it goes over.

Funny I get the feeling that this new site is not done by a Professional Webmaster.

Wizard and is it Face knows a thing or two about websites.

Old site is far superior, still always wondered why Bob with 17,000+ posting should appear at the top of the page.

New logo appears to be home made. But there are too many other things to mention.

Problem is I don't know where is the information I am looking for now.

The font face is too lightweight, especially in the edit text box. I can barely read it as I type this on my laptop. I haven't tried mobile posting yet. But here's the problem -- I don't think your CSS is working properly. The font family listed in the Chrome style explorer (F12) is 'HelveticaLight',arial; but there's also a link to fontdeck.com that doesn't appear to be doing anything (at least on Chrome desktop). In the Chrome style explorer you can deselect the font family and it reverts to standard Arial, which looks just fine. Maybe it could be a touch bigger but still it looks far better than the lightweight font that's currently the default.

I agree, the font is hard to read and I'm on a computer. It must be harder on a phone or notebook.....

In Chrome, Right-Click, Inspect Element. Find a font-family: 'HelveticaLight' entry under styles, delete Light, problem temporarily solved for that page.
