I believed that indignant99's comment about IQs and EB was a personal insult; my comment was not that I thought indignant99 was more worthy of the IQ comment, only that he had personally insulted a member in good standing and would be suspended.
He didn't get suspended and I got one day of "good time" for the next time I am suspended, which one member predicted would happen (the Wizard said "if"; the member said "when"), my skills at predicting suspensions are now suspect!

No specific post was cited. Saying that I make poisonous posts is a personal insult of the highest order and is a blatant attack on my character and integrity. It is unwarranted and uncalled for.
Attack the writing and not the writer is a convenient loophole for those who know how to use it, a good way to insult without really insulting. It's even trumps the smiley face often added at the end of an insult as if that makes it okay.
If I told you that the hat you're wearing makes you look like a big stupid jerk, am I attacking the hat? What if I told a woman that those jeans she is wearing make her look like a fat, ugly slob? Attacking the jeans?
I find it ironic that a forum that purports free speech, dare I say prides itself in free speech, would have an administrator tell a member to leave because he has a different opinion. Is that what this forum has become? Is that the vision of the new owners? I think not.
When Zuga first came here he was barraged with some very aggressive and what some would call hostile questions from several members. One might say he was ganged up on, not necessarily in a bad way but definitely ganged up on. He handle each and every concern with style and grace, never once insulting or telling anyone to leave.
There is one point that Barbara and I agree on. The forum regulars do indeed recognize what they are seeing and many do not like it.
I'd like to thank all who have reached out to me on these pages and by other means. Your support has been overwhelming and humbling. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I'm not sure exactly what Mike said but I don't think it was meant to be rude. I think he was just reminding people he doesn't force anyone to stay and if they are unhappy how things are done they have that option.
I't seems as if there's some animosity between you and BBB. You'll probably deny that you have any. I don't know that I can finger a specific post from you, but I get the feeling you have directed some well hidden remarks towards her. She obviously feels it's directed at her. She should probably ignore you,, and you her, but it's probably not as easy as it sounds. She seems to get extra flack from some members here. It's as if people are just waiting for her to make a mistake. Meanwhile she's just trying to do a good job, and a thankless one at that. I'm not sure if she is compensated for anything. Perhaps having her name in green is good enough. She going to make mistakes just like everyone else. It's almost impossible to have a perfect set of rules.

Well I would say that sums it up pretty well. I don't think it is black and white, everyone has stepped into the gray area and what should NOT be done is to escalate it. Peace, out.

1BB seems to have been gently picking on BBB for quite awhile, possibly never crossing that invisible line. If the same content had been pointed at me, probably would have hurt my delicate feelings;-)

Remember Rule 1? Politely attack the writing, not the writer. That's all I've ever done. Can everyone say the same where I'm concerned? I've done it without the hint of a personal insult. No put downs, ridicule or anything along those lines. No cuss words or simulated cuss words with punctuation as filler.
I've always done my best to help with any information that I could share. Unlike many here, I've always welcomed new members and offered them encouragement. I never laughed at their questions or ideas. I've never goaded or tried to bait anyone as has been done to me countless times. I continue to be insulted by a few who like to circle the wagons and get "extra points," if you will, and that's okay.
It's amazing to me how some can get so riled up over an internet forum of all things. It makes me wonder what is lacking in their lives. That's a general statement directed to the entire world wide internet, not necessarily to this forum.

That is not an invitation to dump on me. :-) If that happens I'll have to defend myself. This is no place to carry on a feud although I wouldn't call it a feud. You see, it takes two to feud. I have a suggestion for those combing through my 5000 plus posts looking for gotcha opportunities. Find something constructive to do. Help out a neighbor, visit a shut in, call an old friend. You'll feel good.

Dear 1BB. I apologize, in public, for any wrong I may have committed in discussing the latest 'dialog' between you and BBB. 'twas definitely not my intent. I have not read your 5000+ posts. My reads would probably be 500-1000. I pretty much like them all, well thought out and well written, obviously from an intellect that qualifies as well above the norm for the world. However, a few made me wince. I think you were playing devil's advocate (I hate that term, I think everyone but the devil should have an advocate). My opinion only, but seemed you enjoyed the task. Fine. You seemed (mostly) to be questioning the 'processes' and not the individuls. In hindsight maybe you weren't picking on BBB, but maybe BBB was doing the Mod job so diligently that your questioning of the process appeared to question her personally. It really isn't that simple. I, me, personally, think you made a mistake or two along the way. I should add that I, me, personally, think she made a mistake or two along the way as well. I guess that proves that you are both human.
I like your thinking and writing. I also like BBB's thinking and writing, and her vigilance as one of the green meanies. My voice doesn't matter much here, but I invite you both to carry on with your roles. Play nice.

Yeah. me too. Especially people who obsessively monitor how the forum rules are addressed, well beyond what the majority are doing, and they are not even a forum monitor.
Unfortunately, as much as I'd like to ignore such obsessiveness, since it is about forum rules and things could end up changing, I feel like I must keep an eye on it.

Back to original thread. I will now vote to allow Buzzard back. Probably a very meaningless vote in the minority. I don't mind being in the minority. In fact, it might worry me somewhat if I wasn't. I've seen the majority, scared the hell out of me.

We can keep talking about it, but we all are smart enough to know that Buzz created a problem, elevated it to a higher level, and got the boot. He had more chances to save himself than some people get and he decided to attack the wrong amigo.
I am sure in his 75 years, he has seen this before. If you give the boss the business and you don't stop when he tells you, it usually doesn't end well...
