Apparently the company who bought them just wants the land. From what I read they buy gaming land and then lease the casino to other companies. I will speculate based on what I read in a few articles that it may become a Penn National property. I don't know much about that company. How are they to low rollers? The Rivers which is about a half hour away is horrible to the low rollers. Hopefully The meadows keeps rolling the same way when the new ownership takes over.

When people were applying for PA casino licenses, CET really wanted into the market. I don't know if they will go after this property as well but with their debt issues I doubt that will be the case.

Yes, Penn National's REIT subsidary Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc. purchased the property with plans to lease it to a third-party.
Some people need to reimagine their thinking.

Penn vastly overpaid and has a history of the cheapest in the land. The players will be paying for them buying their competition and this is bad news.

Penn will open in Austintown in the fall and has Newcastle locked and will never build there now for sure.

I'm just going to miss having Cannery Casino Resorts running the place next year.

I wonder what they are going to put in the front entrance now, upper-wall on the ceiling to the right and left where the wall is painted with Cannery and Eastside Cannery pictures.

So I have been under the impression that Hollywood was going to be the new owners. Apparently it is Pinnacle and they are branding the players club wuth the my choice program. No word on what they are going to call the casino. I guess they could keep it the meadows.

I have a My Choice card but have really never used. What is this program like? I would assume they are at least better than hollywoods. Do they have weekly giveaways as well? The meadows has had many giveaways of actual useful items opposed to the Rivers that gives away logo merch.

138 million plus 25.5 million rent. Interesting. I wonder how this happened, specifically if Penn National sold it or if they backed out. When Penn National made news buying it, they were purportedly paying 400 plus million, which I was correct saying way too high.

Only 17 days away from end of q3, that's pretty close.

I used to love the meadows and hate the rivers. My comps were better and limits were lower.over the last 6 months there was a major shift at least for me.

Rivers always has $5 craps and BJ and the meadows quite often only has $10 craps and $5 bj is now only on csm. Comps have basically sucked as well at the meadows. Maybe they have been trying to save some money to get the sale completed since it was being dragged out.

Only 17 days but a bit of a pain to do it mid-reporting cycle.

I can't talk about why I think what I think on Rivers here but will have a nice article next spring. Lets say the joint is not impressive for the most part, At first I liked Rivers better but drifted to Meadows as I went there more.

So the meadows is purchased by pinnacle. My choice starts on Jan 1. Now I get an email that penn just bought pinnacle.
