I would watch, just because I'm curious to know if he is actually a skillful player or not.
Quote: IbeatyouracesI would if they let me but it's doubtful. I talked to one of the dealers I know that dealt to him and he did make some high count plays with big bets, aka double A9
Regardless of the count, is doubling A9 a good and smart play?

I'm starting to think he has a gambling problem. It's all too public. I actually like a lot of his movies but fear his gambling will become more important than his acting and/or when I see the movie I'll think about him at the blackjack table and ruin said movie.
That said, until something "happens" such as violence or an arrest I guess it's safe to assume very few in the general public know about his gambling.
"Bosses at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas asked the "Argo" star to leave their resort in April after they spotted him counting cards at a blackjack table.
Security officials were quick to dismiss reports suggesting the movie star had been banned from the venue, insisting Affleck was "a valued guest" who is "welcome back any time".
The Oscar winner has now spoken out about the story in the new issue of Details magazine, confirming reports he was asked to step away from the table during a successful night of gambling."

Does anyone know how good a counter Ben is? Is he using Speed Count or some level 4 count? He is on OSN as far as I know.

Wish I could "like" a post.....

It annoy's me that the media tries to make it seem like what Ben Affleck was doing was dubious..."come clean...." Whatever.
I love that Ben's response was basically - Hey, I got good at playing black jack. I'm not apologizing for that.
Actually, his real response was ""That is a true story. I mean, that took place. I took some time to learn the game and became a decent blackjack player. And once I became decent, the casinos asked me not to play blackjack. I mean, the fact that being good at the game is against the rules at the casinos should tell you something about casinos.
"There's a lot of hospitality, backslapping, when they think you're gonna come in and dump money, and if they think you might leave with some money, it's like, 'You know what? Why don't you try craps or roulette?'"
Personally, I think it's ridiculous that a casino can expect people NOT to try and keep track of the game. That's like playing pacman and having the arcade tell you "If I catch you trying to pay attention to where the ghosts are, you are out of here!" Or playing basketball at a gym and having the gym say "If I catch you trying to keep track of the other players movements, you will no longer be allowed to play!" Or playing poker and being expected not to see what other card players are doing or what they have.
Trying to predict the odds of the next card that comes down in blackjack is THE WHOLE GAME. That is how the wizard calculates his basic strategy - based on probabilities of what cards are in the deck. How retarded to think otherwise. However, I don't count cards. I should probably learn though.
According to Ben. TMZ and the local lasvages new talked about this recently. HRH didn't make a stink about it, they politely asked him not to play BJ and he said no problem. He is welcome in the casino. He has been asked in other places not to play as well.

Typical overreaction most likely. You would think the casino could figure out how to use Ben's presence to their advantage. I'd still like to know how strong his counting is.

Even if his counting is superior, I'd let him play whenever, wherever, on a really high limit table. He'd bring in so many fish just for the cachet of getting to say they played with him. Or guys who come in just in case he's around, and play anyway.
