On average, how many days per year are you in a casino, and what is the average length in hours of your daily time spent actively gambling? I will ask you to not count KENO (although I don't really expect anyone here actually plays KENO).

I was averaging about 4 trips per year, average trip was 4-5 days, and I would spend about 6 hours per day playing craps 90% of the time, so I guess my yearly total was around 100 hours.
So far this year, I have done 3, 3 day trips to Biloxi, and I have averaged about 17 hours per trip, so I have about 50 hours in this year, with a 5 day trip and another 4 day trip already scheduled for Vegas. Barring any quick destructions, I should get another 50 hours in for these 2 trips, so it looks like my average is 100 hours per year.

I make about 2 or 3 trips to Las Vegas a year and spend an average of 4 or 5 days per trip. Since I do not have a casino near me, this means this is the only opportunity that I have during the year to gamble. Because of that, I spend between 8 to 10 hours a day gambling while in Las Vegas.

Most of that 8 to 10 hours is at the craps table, with some blackjack or baccarat on the side. Yes, my one "vice" in Las Vegas is roulette. I know the odds are bad compared to the "big three" but I can't seem to not play it at least a few hours per trip. I even play the double zero wheel sometime (gasp) just so I can play with $1 chips. I love playing with huge stacks of chips and tall towers on individual numbers, probably $100 total per spin with $1 chips.

Why no counting Keno? Just curious.

I often leave work on Friday at 5:00, get to A.C. around 8:00pm, stay overnight, then leave Saturday night sometime after midnight.

Does that count as 1, 2 or 3 days?

I do a trip like that 4 or 5 times a year.

I also have trips to A.C. and/or CT. with the wife for a couple days.

And last year and this year, I'll be in Vegas for 6 days for a convention.

At any rate, I selected 15-28 days.

I rarely play at my local casino. Enter the building probably ice ever 3 or 4 weeks to catch up with a few people I know and would actually gamble probably 1 in 5 of those times.

I travel interstate with a good Freind once a year each November and stay for 10 nights at crown casino in Melbourne. During this time we will leave the building for less than 48 hours in what can only be described as a gambling marathon.

I typically do 3-4 trips to AC a year (one day trip through my work, and 2-3 one night trips) and my annual vegas trip (which is 5-7 days). As for time gambling, it varies - in Vegas I can gamble as little as an hour, or I can spend 6-8 in one day in AC gambling at the tables. Most of the time I am playing blackjack/Spanish 21 or Pai Gow Poker (now will play tiles thanks to the Wizard). With Delaware, Pa, and Charles Town (being 45 mins from home) I may "step" up the visits to every month or every other depending on conditions.

I equate Keno to the state lotteries, which I think are now available in almost every state, and is less like gambling, and more like just throwing money away. Yes, I have played a couple of bets on it as a lark while eating dinner, but it has to be worse than playing the big six wheel.

Like you, I have no casino with craps tables anywhere near me, so my gambling always involves a flight. I get the biloxi trips for free, and I can get to Vegas for free if I can coordinate my schedule with the Harrah's junkets, but I had to buy my flights for the 2 upcoming Vegas trips, so I am minus $760 before I even get there.

As stated previously, my wife and I go for March break because she's a teacher. It's usually the Sunday to Thursday trip.

In 2009, we ended up going twice because we took the kids to the Grand Canyon, but we stayed at the Wynn because they sent us a deal.

Overall when we're there we usually play about 1 hour of Jacks or Better video poker a day together. I have a session of blackjack a day that lasts one to two hours where my wife just sits and chats with the dealer and other players and I get an early morning craps game in before the wife wakes up for about 2 hours.

So overall 5 days and about 5 hours a day for me but only about 1 hour a day for my wife. What can I say I'm a small time gambler in both stakes and time.

I go at least once a week, often twice a week. Yes, I am degenerate :)
Seriously, I calculate it to get the maximum cashback return each time I go. If I don't break even on gas and tolls, I don't go. And there has to be a giveaway of some kind. Once there, I only play positive or break-even games. It is also my main form of recreation these days. I am trying to slow it down, but for now I am doing alright.
Vegas twice a year. A.C. twice, maybe three times/year. No real desire to go to Tunica or Biloxi, although I would like to see Reno/Tahoe and Laughlin at some point. I have been to the N. Indiana casinos and was not impressed.

Well, damnit! I have a trip planned to Chicagoland to play next weekend, where I will redeem CallMeBufo's chips. What was the nature of your disappointment with the Northern IN casinos? Have you also been to the ones in Joliet?

*edit* Forgot the part where I was going to actually address the thread itself. I play locally once per week. I'm not sure why, but Mystic Lake gives me about $50/week in free play. So I go there every friday and play off their gift while people watching (and intercom listening) and hoping that I'll be called for whatever giveaway is running.

I also play whenever I can when I have to travel for work. Oddly, that's never led me to Vegas; but I think I'll run over to AC when I attend a conference in Philly in Sept.

Not disappointed, just not terribly impressed. Ameristar and the Majestic Stars are cramped and crowded. Horseshoe Hammond is a warehouse, and limits are high. Nice Asian gaming area, though, but smoky. Blue Chip is nice, probably the best of the four.

Haven't been to any in IL.
