I know this is totally self serving and is of no interest to anyone else..but If someone can help I would appreciate.

When I download a document to open when it is finsihed....it often opens up to a blank page with a little red icon in the center.

However if I download to "save" on my descktop....that red icon shows, i right click the mouse on it, "open with" is a choice....I click on the choice of adobe....and the document opens up fine.

how can I make it so the document opens with adobe as soon as it downloads...and can I manually open it from the original open page with the red icon on it...without going back and downloading to "save" on my desktop/ When I right click on the icon on the blank page it doesnt give me the choice of "open with"..so I have been "saving"

Looks like you need to update your file associations so that PDFs open with Adobe Reader.

Just for the record, Foxit PDF Reader is a free, fast and lightweight alternative for the cumbersome and intrusive Adobe Reader.
