While playing online blackjack I took a break after losing 9 hands in a row after a short period of time.
Always seems to happen once I up my bets over my normal betting. I know this happens all the time no big deal. Shortly after I ran into this. I know its not astronomical but what are the odds? just curious.

L= LOSS W=WIN ( Face up blackjack )
LLLLLLLLWWLWLLLLLLLLLLL. sick considering I just lost 9 in a row.

Losing 10 coinflips in a row happens quite often, i.e. every 1024th try.

However, you only win 40% of your blackjack hands. Losing 10 hands in a row dramatically reduces this number to 165.

I see these streaks online more often than seems possible; it may just be the speed of the deal and the availability of online vs. real, but live B&M BJ I don't recall seeing this kind of ugliness more than once (that I sat still for, anyway). It has led, perhaps erroneously, to my suspicion of rigged online gaming in general. It feels very deliberate, like a pre-determined drain on your bankroll (the amount of which the computer can see) over a series of spins analogous to slots paytable odds rather than BJ odds. Waaaay out of variance for a relatively even-money game, and waaaaay too common for it to be negative rather than more evenly seen on both sides of the mean.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.
