Sad to see

We will be seeing RFID chips soon. Saw some great systems at G2E.

When I was at the local branch of the Riviera in Blackhawk Tuesday they weren't using RFID, but blacklight chips for the 100s. Pretty crazy.

Considering the last two paragraphs of the story... We'll see more shennanigans in the silos. Very sad.
Some people need to reimagine their thinking.

Weirdest thing to me is the navy stationed someone in the middle of the country. Not many battleships going to port in Nebraska or Iowa

Assuming your post was not merely humorous and rhetorical (it was humorous), this is part of a past life, so I'll comment a little. SAC (Strategic Air Command) is at Offutt exactly because it's central US. It's been there since the cold war started (late 40-early 50's), and the assumption was that there would be some warning to them if nuclear missiles were approaching, whether launched from subs or land-based outside the country. They're considered a primary (first strike) target for attack in any wargames planning (too bad for Omaha as collateral damage), but it takes some minutes for anything sent from outside the country to reach them, which should be detected crossing our boundaries, so they might have time to make a response if the "last day" comes before they're annihilated by the nuke they fully expect; they hope some portion of the US survives if they activate countermeasures before they die. At least that's the theory and the basis for drills they've been doing for decades. One of the primary offensive weapons of this country continues to be nuclear subs which act as mobile launch platforms for both nuclear and conventional weapons, so there's an entire contingent of the Navy assigned there, including very senior staff.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.
