Hi All,

I'm headed to Vegas in about a month for a work conference. I'll be busy most of the time but I might get in 5-10 hours gambling.

My bankroll will be $3K.

My preferred games are blackjack, craps and video poker.

I'm not looking for comps, just opinoins.

Presuming I can find reasonable conditions, better to play $25 DD blackjack, $5 bet double double bonus video poker, or after a point has been set, an $110 buy-in on the craps table (10 on the pass, max odds, buy 4 and 10 for $25(6).

Gut says it's all about the same, wouldn't mind a reality-check.

$3K is not a very large bankroll for the games you are considering. Be prepared to lose it all over the course of a few days if things are bad. Especially the DDB poker (what paytable?)

The best game is the DD blackjack, spreading with the count. 1-4 with a weak count will put you at breakeven over the long run. Play at the Mirage. DDB has the most variance. The craps bets you are making are pretty good -- very low house edge but again high variance -- can lose a lot if 4s, 10s, and points are not hitting.

For DDB, he'll have to search fairly hard on the strip to find dollar 9/6 DDB machines. According to VPFree it looks like they exist at Mirage, Treasure Island, and MGM Grand (a 50-play machine with Quick Quads option).

Blackjack is still the best bet regardless.

2 things...

Would $5K change things?

Also, I meant max odds on the $10 pass line bet, *not* betting $10 pass *after* the point has been set. That'd just be silly.

My other thought is simply dark side max odds and seeing if I can finally get it right on the don't (if you ever want to win money, gauranteed, just follow me and watch me play the don't - you play the pass. Maybe you'd take me to lunch after?). Hehe.

It certainly would. But what is your real bankroll? If you bring $5k but are okay with risking $10k, just bring the whole $10k. If you don't feel like risking $5k, bring the $3k and play less volatile games.

You could blow through $5k fairly easily over the course of a weekend playing $5/spin DDB. I would look for the most generous paytable you can find. 10/6 DDB is a superb paytable which can be found at the Station casinos chain. It is worth cabbing or shuttling out there. But over the course of a weekend, anything can happen.

You'd be far less likely to bust out playing craps or BJ. $5K is a nice bankroll for a weekend of $25 DD BJ card counting.
