So with the popularity of the chip of the day thread, I was just wondering if anyone would have interest in trading extra chips or maybe starting some sort of "chip buying" agreement. For example I live in Arizona and don't plan on being in Atlantic city anytime soon. Maybe if someone from new jersey, or someone on vacation in Atlantic city, could grab a few chips I could return the favor and send them some chips from AZ casinos. Or someone could even send $5 to another poster via paypal to obtain the chips and mail them out. Anyway just seeing if anyone else would be interested.

I know most people like to collect the chips as souvenirs from casinos they have actually visited, but I was just throwing it out there.

As you indicated in your last line, I only collect souvenir chips from casinos that I visit myself, and I almost never come home with more than one chip from a casino. Thus, I would not likely be a participant for such an exchange, but I think there is an active chip market on eBay, so there may be other people interested in arranging trades here.

I only have four chips that are not on display as part of my collection. Two of them are $1 tokens that I got in Las Vegas from Caesars Palace and Hard Rock when they were using tokens for table games. I have since obtained clay chips and replaced the tokens in the display. I posted images of those tokens when I posted the chips, but now the tokens just stay in a desk drawer.

The third item not in the display is a chip that I received as a gift from a member here. It is from a casino in Asia that I have never been to. I really appreciate the gift, but this is in a different category than "chips from casinos where I have played." I likely will post an image of that chip as the last one of my set before turning the thread over to other collectors.

The fourth chip not on display really is a duplicate. I have no idea why, but I came home with two $1 chips from the Greenbrier in West Virginia. If there were folks interested in my extra, I could make that one available, but I don't know that there is anyone who would care. I will be posting an image of that chip (really the other one) in the Chip of the Day thread some time in March. The only thing special about it is that in order to play in that casino, you must be a member or guest of the resort -- you can't just drop by and gamble.

Spekaing of this, would anyone be interested in Mexican casino chips?

I've a 5 peso red chip from Royal Yak (pics available on request), and I suppose I can get more. There are also green 25s, black 100s and I think a 500 maybe in purple. All in pesos. The reds are free, the others go for face value.

I think there may be another casino within easy reach that does chips, too. I could check it out. All the others I've visited are strictly slots.

I have a handful of duplicate or non-$5 chips that I might be willing to trade/sell. But, like Doc, my primary collection consists only of chips from casinos that I've personally visited.

Hi Beardgoat, I would be interested. While I would prefer to collect from places I have actually been to, I am always interested in unique designs. I've been thinking of specializing in chips with metal centers like the Atlantic City chips that were recently posted, but have no idea if anyone is still using them at the $1 level nowadays. I know the MOGH founders used to have conventions, but I don't follow their current events too closely.

Hey aye... None of the casinos here in arizona have any type of metal center. The only one in my collection is from the Colorado Belle in Laughlin. It's the only one I have so I'm not looking to trade it though. Sorry!

Is there any Vegas casino superior to others? The most popular, the most appreciated, the most legendary? I'd like to have one chip of their! I could pay something for it.
