I know a lot of people have no clue what the Mummers parade is, but I just found a live stream link for the Mummers Parade today for those interested like me on the other side of the world. Can't wait for the String Bands! I also just found an old video on youtube from when I went up Broad street way back in 1979! :) Also did a little research on it on wiki - had no clue that the actor Kevin Bacon was a Mummers supporter.

I moved to Vegas about 9 months prior to sugarhouse opening, but yes I have played there on a few visits back to philly. It was small and very crowded during my visits, but it was still in the opening months. may have gotten better, IDK.
Kevin Bacon was born and raised in Philadelphia, and makes frequent appearances. Kevin and his brother had a band that used to play south street venues frequently.
I used to live 2 blocks off broad street, in the rittenhouse square area of Philly, so attended a few Mummers parades, but mostly they were just an annoyance tying up traffic. lol
