I have a question:

Do you guys think we should do a Wizard of Odds Tournament?

I think that it could be fun if we could get enough people available at a specified date, or time. We could even schedule it loosely such as playing the tournament from 00:00 (date) to 23:59 (date) and how it would work is we would have a Tournament thread upon which to post a screenshot of your win. In the event that your win is beaten, then the next person should take a screenshot of his/her win and post it.

The schedule could be made to last less than a full day if there are enough people available in a certain timeframe. If we are going to go under one day, though, I would recommend a certain grace period after the tournament ends for the posting of the screenshots.

Proposed Rules:

1.) You may play any game on WoO in which the starting amount is either $1,000 or 1000 Credits, however, if you intend to participate in the competition, you must call your game ahead of time!*

*The exception to this rule is that any VP game in which the paytable may be edited cannot be played. I just made $1,000,000+ in under five minutes changing every pay to 99,999.

2.) Your screenshot post must somewhere include your system time. We'll go scout's honor that nobody is going to change their system time or play early and achieve a near unbeatable result prior to the tournament.

3.) We could either go scout's honor on a bust-out admission, or have unlimited (or one-two), "Re-buys." I would advise against unlimited re-buys simply because I can tell you what's going to happen. If it were within the Rules, exactly what I would do is just slap $1,000 down on Black-29 in Roulette, or $330/bet in Let It Ride or something like that until I hit something with a serious payoff. It would be the best startegy to get your bankroll started, and this competition should be more about skill than variance, though all things gambling are about both.

I think allowing ourselves to bust out once, a, "Mulligan," if you will, would be fair.

***Like I said, the majority of this is Scout's Honor stuff, but since there is nothing really to win or lose, I don't think anybody would have any reason to lie about the result.

I'll probably play either Craps, Let It Ride or Pai-Gow Tiles. The latter will be if I finish learning it by the time we decide to do this! It's a great game, but it is always telling me I am not making the best play, so then I click on it to do it like the banker, and that's what I've already done!!! This is invariably so. Playing like the Banker must suck, though, because it tells me I am doing something wrong one out of every six-eight hands.

The problem is getting a timestamp on the screenshot.

A smaller problem would be analyzing the shot to verify there was no PhotoShop activity.

For what it's worth, I got this about a year ago. Maybe more than a year:

I got the pai gow tiles up to over $100000 by starting betting $1000, then letting it ride to the max of $5000, then betting $5k.

That's a pretty awesome screenshot!

Apologies if you have already seen the thread.

In the two I posted on this thread, the first one is from Roulette where eight spins went:

32, 00, 16, 32, 16, 16, 16, 32

The second picture is getting over 100K on Let It Ride using the Martingale. I lost many, many times before I got up to 100K. The funny thing about that working is that my best payout the whole time was actually a straight.

The first screenshot took the time and the second one did not, though, could be more honor system.
