Anthony Curtis' site's Question Of The Day deals with the new terminal at McCarran opening in stages this summer. Read it while you can.

He also links to a Las Vegas Review-Journal map of the new complex:

I've used T2 since 2008, and it seemed perfectly fine to me. Small, yes, and with too little in the way of services and shops (especially a Duty Free that should hang its head in shame), but otherwise ok.

To be sure it wasn't very convenient. For one thing, you had to walk from international baggage claim to another part of the terminal to reach the cab stands and shuttles. For antoher thing, often there would be no shuttles or even shuttle company agents, when my flight debarked. So I had to take the free bus to T1 and scare up a shuttle there (plenty to go around, but the traffic and noise is pretty bad; plus you have to go into the terminal, go up one floor and get out again...)

On the plus side, and I mean a big plus, on departing flights security screenings took all of thirty seconds, no lines. If the new terminal has a separate section for domestic and international security screenings, then that will continue. If not, well, it was nice while it lasted. There's always Terrible's if I miss my flight :)
