I figured this amusing 4-part story must have already been posted here, but I couldn't find it anywhere. It details the experiences of 3 guys "doing" Vegas on $19/day. Based on the casinos that were open, the pictures, and the described table minimums, I think it must have been written in the early 90s.

I have no idea if it's true, but it's hilarious if you like deadpan humor. The rest of the site is pretty good too, like the Lucky Ned IncridiSystem for winning craps.

I found the first story linked from MichaelBluejay's website.

I enjoyed reading all 4 stories on my commute home from work. Very funny, though after about the second day they started to become repetitive and a bit boring. There was still humor sprinkled throughout that kept me reading though.

I agree with all of that, except I ended up skipping half of the fourth part. It was hilarious at first, but overly repetitive.

I somehow see this "penny pinching" as incompatible with "Vegas, Baby. Vegas!!"

Just as I see fast food outlets as incompatible with people who are on vacation.

Alot of this simply reflects differing value systems and some probably reflects the "In-Town Retirees" only.

Ofcourse all those Keno Lady jokes are dated because live Keno is so "dead" now. Keno, if played, is likely to be video keno.

I guess they are all segments of a giant market, however, as are the Dotty customers and the "Bluies" from the Bingo Rooms who eke out a plus one-percent living from their social security checks and retirement home shuttle buses. Dauber's Anonymous.

Ijust don't envision many people treking to Vegas so as to ride buses or shop at thrift stores or drink the same swill they can get at home.
