i just saw this on americancasinoguide.com.

"New member sign-up promotion replacing the previous scratch card promotion. Through December 31, 2013, new members signing up can receive up to $500 in free slot play. Receive $10 in free slot play for every 250 points earned up to a maximum of $500 with up to 48 hours to earn and redeem. Visit the Owl Rewards Club for complete details. "

then checked vpfree for their best game and how to earn points. their best game is an ~9/6 JoB game that pays 239 for a straight flush on maxcoin bet. 99.52% payback. $3coin-in on vp = 1pt. 100pts=$1.

so i get you have to wager $37,500 to get the $500 in fsp expected to lose $180 and get $125 back in points for a $445 expected profit.

~9/6 JoB is only 1-play and $1 denom max. they also have a 10-play $2 8/5 BP game which would have an expected loss of $311.25 but would take 1/20 of the time to play through.

Be careful that it's for actual free slot play. When I signed up I also got an outrageous amount of FSP but it was only to be used on a few machines they had roped off. The prizes on those machines included chicken wings etc, so its not exactly free slot play. They may have done away with this system since I signed up.

I think they have done away with the promo machines recently, but rudeboyoi really needs to verify that again. I heard those promo machines were horrible. Given the numbers he quoted though, this sounds similar to what I expect for a new player promo.

I did that sign-up "promo" several years ago. They sent you to a roped-off area and inserted a $100 bill into the machine of your choice (I think all they had were $5 Double Diamond one-liners, 2 credits = $10 per spin) and anything less than the top prize had to be played back. I don't think chicken wings were an actual prize; I think Gazreal is confusing the example Wizard used in his review:

What is stopping the next casino from offering “$5,000 in free play” by giving the player one spin on a $5,000 machine and if you hit the jackpot, they give you a hot dog?
